Re: F6F Blue Angels

Do any of you remember the Monogram 4-Pack F11-F Tigers US Navy Blue Angels with stand that had them in the Diamond formation? I remember making that one when I was a kid (Not that I am not a kid still, just alot bigger).

I had a couple sets of those....What I wouldn't give to have them back....I would love to see Revell-Monogram re-issue that set. I would have to go dig out my airbrush - or then again maybe I would just build them all crudely like I did the first time around.....ahhh, the memories.

That was a great kit for its time. There is a site called Old Model Kits.com that has one. It is listed as sealed and in mint condition, along with a listed price of $210.00. Seems to be a little more expensive than I remember.

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.

Yep!..'specially considering I think I stole mine from the Five and Ten as I probably couldn't pony up the 90 cents for the kit....

Re: F6F Blue Angels

My earliest memories of the Blues was watching them at NAS Oceana when they had F-4s. I always wish I had the opportunity to see them fly the Panthers and Cougars.

Re: F6F Blue Angels

For me it was the F-11 ..The #7 jet during that era was a TF-9 Cougar (since of course, there were no two-seat versions of the Tiger), and I remember having my picture taken sitting in it.

Cool! I always liked the TF-9J; in fact I'd prefer a diecast model of that over a single seater.

Same here...that's one aircraft that I thought actually looked better in its tandem-seat version. (unlike the TA-4 which I think is really gawky looking)

I agree with the TF-9J. With respect to the TA-4, I like it and the non-humpback single seaters equally. Other two seaters I like better than the single seat equivalents- F-5B, TA-7C, F-101B, MiG-15UTI, MiG-9UTI, T-33.

I'll toss in the EE Lightning the Hunter the F-16 and the F-104.
