Re: F6F Blue Angels

When I was a kid, just for kicks, I took the old MPC Skyray and repainted it in Blues colors. I don't know whatever happened to it. I think it got pitched (along with a bunch of other stuff) when my parents cleaned out my room after I left for boot camp.

Yeah, parents have a habit of doing that. I saved most of my son's junk over the years and through many moves. Now I can't get the bugger to take it off my hands. Told him I was gonna sell all his original GI Joes and Micro Machines but that had little effect.

Re: F6F Blue Angels

The Hellcat, Skyhawk will fit in my BA Shrine real nice.
Hopefully to be followed by the Beetle Bomb, Cougar, Panther, Tiger.....

Just noticed,.... you can see the team bag off to one side., Belonged to Lt Cdr Dave Stewart who joined team in '92 as narrator, '93 as opposing solo (on bag) and '94 as lead solo #5. Found it in big flea market in VA Beach. $10.00.

Now that is one impressive display!!

Re: F6F Blue Angels

Well, we got a BA hellcat and A-4 coming from HM, along with a Thunderbirds F-4. It'd be nice to see a 1/72nd Panther come along in Blues colors. Not to mention a 1/72nd F-100 and F-84...

Re: F6F Blue Angels

Remember the 4-pack of Blues F-4s Monogram made years ago? Or the BA history set Hasegawa put out later (which still required you to buy the Monogram to make complete)?

Do any of you remember the Monogram 4-Pack F11-F Tigers US Navy Blue Angels with stand that had them in the Diamond formation? I remember making that one when I was a kid (Not that I am not a kid still, just alot bigger).

One of my assignments was as a Weather Forecaster at Nellis AFB. I briefed the Thunder Birds quite a few times, but also the Blue Angels, Snow Birds and the Japanese Blue Impulse demonstration teams.

I vaguely remember that. I think one of my brothers built it.

I remember getting the set after my father took me to a flying model contest at Lakehurst Naval Air Station. They had a F-11 up on a pylon painted like one of the Blue Angel aircraft, pretty neat. There were also the rather large hangars there that were pretty neat (In door flying contest).
