Re: Pre production photos of Guadalcanal P-400

P-39 or P-400 in 1:48 would be great for me.

That would definitely work for me too. Speaking of 1/48 scale; I recall Hawk mentioning in a thread quite a while back that although he could not be specific about upcoming releases for 2008, he had seen the list and he commented that it was going to be a great year for 1/48 scale collectors. You know, I'm really happy for you 1/72 guys, with all the great stuff announced in that scale, but as a 1/48 collector I've really been disappointed in the lack of announcements for that scale. Here we are getting the April list from Hawk, and it really contains only a highly modified tooling of an airframe that they have already produced (Buffalo) and nothing else new. The 1/48 Spits and the Panthers were announced in 2007. I just knew that by now, we would be hearing that a 1/48 Crusader, Helldiver, Sea Fury, Oscar, etc would have been revealed. So Hawk---whats the deal on the sparse 1/48 lineup? ----------Happy collecting, markko

Man, I wish you ink lovers would pipe down. I don't like the ink much at all but if you keep on this way I'm afraid they'll listen to you, who are clearly wrong, and ignore me, though I'm right.

Um FDC we may have a target for ya! LOL

Re: Pre production photos of Guadalcanal P-400

Funny you should mention that in this thread because they are from the first two 39s. The uniform colors are a bit off, but any port in a storm...

I still think HM is planning on producing a line of pilots, just because the 110 has a removable canopy (in fact, just try to keep it from falling off!), and the 39 pilots fit right in.

Nice to know that the P-39s come with figures, I have the Duxford P-39 on pre order, and starting to think I should add the Guadalcanal P-400 to my pre order list. Kind of curious what the next P-39 addition might be.

Re: Pre production photos of Guadalcanal P-400

Lets see a bunch of folks requested the Guadalcanal paint scheme, and that is the latest release. Hmmnn if memory serve correct quite a few folks were asking about this one too. Hard to say, but the folks at Hobby Master do seem to listen to customer inputs.

Looks sort of grey/black, though to tell the truth I had to go back and look...
