I'm disapointed by the new paint scheme of the Kate, the first was better.

I have received no professional training whatsoever

Jim, I know your views on the Bf 110 from some other discussions. As a day figther it never lived up to its expectations. As a heavy fighter is was mauled by the escorts. But it was a resounding success as a night fighter. I would recommend Schnaufer's G4 (HA 1803). It looks like it will be the best yet. The aileron balance weights have been corrected and it has the Schräge Musik armament. If you only get one 110, this is the one to get.

where did you see the schrage muzik armament? I only saw standard rear facing machine guns on the pre-pro on hawk's site

FROGGY, the first scheme was very controversial because the camouflage and tail colors could not be verified. The colors for that particular aircraft are not very well documented and there is too much speculation regarding its actual color. Other aircraft of this type are better documented and therefor less controversial. I would rather have a reasonably accurately painted representation of this important plane myself.

The Schräge Musik armament is in the rear part of the canopy, just slightly forward of the defensive rear facing armament. On Hawk site you can make out the armament on the profile pictures of the model.

I too prefer the new scheme, mainly because it is more accurate and verified. However, I like the looks of the new scheme as well and I am glad that HM did not just "plow ahead" with the first scheme but listened to us when it was pointed out that it was wrong and could not be verified. A lot of us would have been very unhappy if HM had persisted with the inaccurate first scheme.

I agree Old Bean, it certainly proved itself as a nightfighter and the Schrage Musik equipped ones were the best at the job.
Just slip under the Bomber and open fire, devastating to any unsuspecting aircraft.
There was many a Bomber shot down by the Me110 without ever seeing who or what did the damage.

Yes I have no doubt one of the type you mention will appear at Jims field in the future.

Thats assuming I can talk Lorraine into letting me have another Hanger! (cabinet).

God Bless America.
