CC, with the quote Sergey had over his line about panel lines, I understood his statement to be a funny line, ie. go easy on the panel lines on Kate Beckinsale.

Oh,,, well if that is the case, I agree!

If that's the case, I hope that HM will take it easy with panel lines.

Regards,

Sergey

Sergey, I think we can now be more hopeful that HM will produce some WWII Soviet types! Marketing-wise, the Kate is a real stretch, but MiGs and Yaks should be less so...

Re: Buy HM's Kate And You May Get What You Really Want.

Not really sure that panel lines is an issue on their 1/72nd scale line anymore. I have the latest HM Bf 110 and it does not have panel line "inking" as they call it. Personally Iiked them trying to give their models the look of its actually been outside, but they backed off on this with the Bf 110. I guess it is back to factory finish never been started look. I like the quality of what HM puts out so either way I will continue to purhase their products. I am just happy that they have yet again put out a new mold.

Have you seen the new Italian 104?... HA1006 - Italian Air Force F-104S/ASA-M -- anyone with pics of the real deal?

Seems panel lines are still an issue... I agree the 110 should have the wash, this 104... no way, and it's much too heavy, too. They appear to still be experimenting, with little apparent rhyme or reason/methodology?

Sorry guys, I wanted to be more crass, but in the end decided not to tread on Skunky, Top Hat, and Tank Nut turf.

Honestly, I'll only buy one version of Kate just to support the project in hopes of getting some WWII Soviet, Italian, French, Polish, and AVIA-B534 down the road.

Regards,

Sergey

Those are the types I am hoping for down the line. There are a bunch of nice possibilities in those nationalities to say the least. Some on my list would be the LaGG 3, Polikarpov I-16& I-153, MC 200, Fiat G-50 & CR 42, P.Z.L. 11C and P.Z.L. 23 Karas to name a few. The Avia B.534 and the Avia B.35/135 would make some really fine looking models. The B.534 is probably one of the nicer looking biplane fighters of WWII, and just happen to have kit of one too.

Buy HM's Kate and you may get what you really want?

You mean they'll send me Kate Beckinsale?! Put me down for two!

Maybe they will throw in a free DVD copy of "Pearl Harbor"...

But will their version of the DVD include pilots---especially those plucky USAAF heroes who shot down 50 late model Zeros each at Pearl and then went on to obliterate Tokyo and wipe out half of the Japansese army after crash landing in China?
