Am I the ONLY one here that's really excited about the new F-104 and F-4 releases ???

Hi All,

Am I the only one who cares about these two ????

Ok, I'm personally thrilled that Hobby Master is releasing a NASA F-104 and a Navy F-4. I have yet to purchase a Hobby Master aircraft myself, but I have seen a few at the local hobby shop, and they are very nice indeed, especially the Really George F-104. So lot's of excitement about the other releases, but nary a word about these two aircraft. I happen to collect NASA aircraft, and the F-4 has always been a favorite of mine, I recall during the 1976 Bicentennial Celebration I took my dad to see an aircraft carrier open to the public, (don't recall which one), but I vividly remember that the F-4's on deck looked GREAT.

I will venture that the NASA F-104 will have a chrome metal treatment like the Really George F-104 and it will be fantastic.

I have purchased the Witty NASA F-104, and in my humble, neophyte collector opinion it's a very nice model, But what the heck do I know, I also have the Matchbox NASA F-104 and I really like it as well, so my ability to recognize discerning models certainly needs to develop. But I have bought a few Century Wings aircraft and they seem to be far and away of a higher caliber than anything else available in 1/72. Just my 2 cents...

F4 yes, 104 no. But your not alone, look back a few pages and you'll see the response to the news.

Re: Am I the ONLY one here that's really excited about the new F-104 and F-4 releases

Rest assured, a lot of us are excited about the F-4's. I plan on buying one of the F-4D's and F-4J's. I will get an F-4E when it comes out in a USAF service scheme-- and probably I will purchase many more as well. I like F-4's, having seen them a lot as I was growing up. In fact, I would expect the Phantom to be one of the biggest all-time sellers for HM.

As for the F-104, I am not as excited about the NASA scheme, though a lot of people here are. I have the Really George F-104 and I really like it. I might get another F-104 in a service scheme. I have been tempted by the chrome Japanese version, but have resisted it so far.

I have every F-104 that's been made available by Hobby Master to the general public and the Corgis also. I've always liked the F-104 since I was 10 years old. I just wish they would do more operational schemes instead of Red Italian Jobs.
I am excited about the F-4 and hope HM does some really great schemes. I also want more new aircraft like the F-5 and A-1 to name a very few.

Whew !!!!!

I was starting to get worried for moment there, I think that once collectors see the NASA F-104 in the Dryden 1966 scheme, they will really like it !!!

As for the F-4, a FABULOUS aircraft for sure, and many, many, many paint schemes from Navy, Air Force and if I'm not mistaken, Marines.

From what I have seen, Hobby Master produces excellent model aircraft, so we are all in for treat, and typically they seem to be priced quite fairly.

Re: Am I the ONLY one here that's really excited about the new F-104 and F-4 releases

I am excited by the NASA Starfighter release. I have wanted this one for some time, and I think the livery HM chose is perfect. The F-4? Will have to wait and see... I wanted CW to do this one, but maybe HM will nail it... I currently do not have as much confidence in them as I do CW.

I think the excitement generated by the announcement of the Kate release, for many on this forum, buried the news about the NASA Starfighter.

I'm looking forward to the NASA F-104; I like that 60's paint scheme a lot better than the white and blue one that was used later on. I will definitely be getting this one.
