Re: HM 1/32 SBD almost here??

Well... the pictures of the crew (here and at TFM) do not look good at all. I can see how the absence of a stand will disappoint many. Nevertheless, I am still good for at least one (if not several) models... these issues don't deter me.

However, I bet HM will listen to requests for an in-flight display stand, and I would not be surprised to see one made if the feedback for one is overwhelming. The crew figures? Not sure what can be done about this except start over. What I see will never do. They look like the melting face nazi in Raiders of the Lost Ark.

The Corsair pilot is cool, but will he fit in the Dauntless??? Are these guys comparing each others armpit odors to see which one's better???

Boy, you guys are showing your age. They're doing a modified chest bump....all the kids are doing it!

Seriously, that is the beauty of 21st CT's 1/32nd pilots. They not only look good and are the right scale but there is articulation in the shoulders and neck!

The SBD is really taking a pounding at the UK forum. So is MHII for (in some views at DAF) being the rah rah team for HM.

I think they have some very valid points though and I'm glad to see them being aired out.....I know this SBD is something that many have been anticipating for a long time and everyone wants it to be great, but for the price that HM is demanding for this thing, I think matters like droopy props (I'm not buying the "weight" issue) and kindergarten flight crew is unacceptable...There's absolutely no (good) reason why these things couldn't have been done right.

We need to hold these manufacturers feet to the fire so they don't become complacent and figure they can release things with mistakes and figure we're just always going to accept it anyway.....................................

Ya' know, Skunky.... I agree with ya'. I bettin' the prop will eventually get fixed, but I think we are stuck with the meltin' faces "k crew".

But, also to be fair, the model looks outstanding. I can live without the crew figures; and I am sure HM will take care of the other QC issues.

I hope by the time the second issue SBD Dauntless comes out, all these valid points made by the DAF forumites would've have been rectified.

For the price you pay for it...Sure it should of been better...But it was a easy fix for the prop with me anyway because my pin was a little long and i took it off
and filed it down and you guys seen the results...Honest if that prop was not diecast it wouldn't of droped like that...That little hub spinner is a little heavy too.
To correct these make a plastic prop and hub spinner and sub-contract out with 21st for the pilot figures..
