Well maybe he needs a couple of Chicago area phone books too... Definitely is a lot lower down than he should be based upon this photo

Yeah, I mean look at the pic of the model and pilot's head comes no where near the headrest at the top of the seat... so either the pilot's too small or the seat sits "too low".. I'll not have mine until mid next week. An-ti-ci-pa-tion...

Re: HM 1/32 SBD almost here??

Are those blue eyes on the gunner figure - I thought his eyes were hazel. Just kidding everyone. I'd like to be a fly on the wall in the HM design teams office after reading how this incredibly detailed SBD is being scrutunized over the pilot figure. I guess you just can't win sometimes. But it's their own fault - it would have been easier just to leave the pilot out.

Those guys looked pissed. But perhaps if you went to war and had to fly with your twin brother you'd be pissed too. I'm sure the one who got to fly will never let his brother forget he washed out of the flight school and had to be a gunner.

You can never go wrong with these Dauntless crews at your disposal!

Sorry for the off-topic...sometimes I just can't help myself!

Are you gonna test that theory?

Yea i will...Corsair pilot looks just a tad bigger then the F4 pilot.
at least the upper body does.

Point taken, but hopefully this will all be cancelled out by all the gushing when we get this bird in our mitts!

I think you are right, Pappy. Just an attempt at late day humor.

Re: HM 1/32 SBD almost here??

Maybe the 1:32 Corsair pilots from 21st toys will fit in the cockpit ok...
JP

JP,
I just can't understand why 21st Century Toys (who only make plastic planes and are definitely NOT high end) can make outstanding pilots/figures but the high end companies can't do the same! I'm tempted to just go buy a few inexpensive 21CT planes for the pilots and then give the planes to my 5 year old nephew.

I think I'll wait for the BBI version which will be plastic, and about 1/3 the price..
