Pics of Chrome F-104J

Attached are a few pictures I snapped with a small point and shoot digital (I am out of town and do not have my better camera). I'm afraid the shots really do not do this model justice and I debated whether to post these for fear of putting some collectors off.

The chrome finish is very attractive and the detail is quite nice. I did not attach the various bits but you do get the idea. Limited run of 600 pieces.

Looks pretty cool Old Crow. Don't be so hard on your pics, they get the job done. Hopefully this means more natural metal finish 104s from HM in the future.

Re: Pics of Chrome F-104J

I forgot to mention that this was one tough %#@&^* to get out of the plastic tray. The wings are held so tight that it is almost impossible to remove without sending all the parts into orbit when the plastic releases its grip. In fact, I was very concerned about causing structural damage to the airframe when trying to pull it out. If there is a better technique for removing, I would sure like to know.

Additional note to Hawkonevoodoo: the top of the plastic tray rubs on the canopy on top of the fuse and actually very slightly mars the clarity of the clear plastic. A small bit of plastic wrap or cello on top may help prevent this.

I had the same problem with the Corgi bird. I ended up pushing in the forward wing tabs, and turning the container upside down, allowing the model to slide out on its own. I recommend doing this while holding the box over a table with a towel on it, so the small parts don't go bouncing all over the place. And, don't forget to keep one hand on top of the model prior to turning the box over!

Looks great!

I would like to see the chrome finish used next on a RCAF CF-104 (Circa 1962)!

Nice pics, OC. Thanks for posting. I overlooked this one (kind of), but may have to reassess. Is this still available anywhere?

Thanks for the pics, OC! I haven't got this one yet but that may change soon enough.
