Re: Pics of Chrome F-104J

I haven't even pulled mine out of the box yet. I need to swing by a pharmacy and get some white cotton gloves before I atempt to do so. I don't want to take ANY chances on marring that gorgeous finish!

swing by the pharmacy for glovers?? Ya right we know why you are going there mmmmmmmmmmm ummmmmmm

Re: Pics of Chrome F-104J

Re-read post #66. The problem existed from the very beginning. I picked up "Really George" (the very first HM 104) the minute it was out. The horizontal stabs were of course noticeable right away; they were horribly misaligned. I just didn't notice the wing droop until now (don't know why I didn't, maybe I was obsessing on the tail). I wanted an HM NASA bird, but now I will not pick one up until HM assures that the tail and the wing issues will be fixed.

I'm sorry to hear that, Elmer. Maybe I got lucky with the first few releases; I just rechecked "Really George", "Mount Olympus", and "Pussycat" and I don't see any problems. I will, however, pull out the rest of the 104s and check them.
Thanks for the heads up as to what to look for.

Ah, right -- sorry, forgot for a sec where you were located Can see why returns would be an issue. Stateside, places like the Mule will take a model like that back as they supposedly inspect each model before sending it, or try to, to help weed out the "lemons", so to speak. Therefore, if one gets through... they take it back.

Unless I'm wrong it shouldn't cost the collector of Hobby Master models anything if the product is faulty. It doesn't make any difference where you live, if you are a customer you are a customer. This is why I have a page on my site,
Hobby Master problem solving page

Re: Pics of Chrome F-104J

Just got my F-104J Beautiful. wings and horizontal stab look good to me. Sure would like to see a chrome F-104 with the one s that are in my print Gunfighters of the New West. it would beyond words. I'm moving to Arizona so I'll have to pay a visit to Luke AFB and see if I can find any actual pictures of the ones in the print. Need to get back to the Pima Air Muesuem too.
