Re: Pics of Chrome F-104J

Well, I'm considering putting the one wing on my HM F104J in a vice and applying pressure accordingly - anyone know the tensile strength of diecast metal, as I suspect I'm going to find out? .

You can use the resultant pieces to make a diorama of an F104 augered into the ground.

The problem is when one wing is (considerably) 'droopier' than the other ...

That's the problem. Was also a finicky job when building the 104 and obviously HM are finding it a problem also.

Re: Pics of Chrome F-104J

Hi Card! It might be easier to remove the wing from the fuselage and attach them again at the proper angle. That's what I did with all 3 of my HM 104s. Also, I think that the wing will detach from the fuselage before you break it if you use a vise.....I might be wrong though.

Wing came out but I marred the finish (badly) - without being able to bend it to the correct angle .

Sorry to hear that.

When I removed the wings on my 104s I was able to do it without any tools. Just used my bare hands.

Well I guess you'll just have to get a 1/72nd GODZILLA and some Cotton to put between the wing and fusalage and hang it from the ceiling. Godzilla 1 F-104 0
