USS Lexingotn Buffalos HA7005 and HA7006

Picked these up from Roger (RockJock). If you've seen the earlier Buffalos these will be familar to you. Changes I saw were a stand with the Hobby Master name embossed on it (stand is the same though), an Elmer plug for the screw hole that doubles as a stand connection, and a limited edition card. The Elmer plug sticks out a bit and some might like the model without it. I don't put puny little bombs on my fighters but they are included if you want them.

Both of these aircraft are from VF-2 operating off the USS Lexington during 1940. HA7006 with the red strip is the commanding officer's aircraft and would lead the first section of four fighters. HA7005 would be lead aircraft of the sixth section typically flown by the squadron's gunnery officer.

All in all nice additions if you want 1/48 and like the pre-war markings. Now where is my TBD Devastator?

First up here is HA 7006 with the red strips:

This is HA7005 with yellow stripes:

Detail on the bottom including the plug:

Here is the limited edition card you get:

Re: USS Lexingotn Buffalos HA7005 and HA7006

Now where is my TBD Devastator?

A TBD Devastator?-- Would I love to see one of those! A TBD in 1/72 scale would be quite welcome. A 1/32 Devastator would be great!-- it would nicely complement the 1/32 SBD. How about it, Hawkonevoodoo?

By the way those Buffaloes look great. Although I don't need to start collecting another scale, I may have to buy one of those. It would also be nice to see a 1/72 Buffalo, particularly an F2A-3.

Look fantastic, should have a pair of them at my front door tomorrow. Expect they should look pretty good sitting next to the Saratoga Buffalo.

Re: USS Lexingotn Buffalos HA7005 and HA7006

I'm all for a Devastator or three in my collection. 1:72 please!

I keep trying to hold off purchasing on of these Buffalos since I don't need to delve into 1:48 scale but since no one else is doing a Buffalo worth mentioning I may have to break down.

Anything for a weird life.

Thanks for the pics ships! Love that Elmer plug! Although I will need to mod it a bit to make it seat flush. Hope I get mine this week.

I know what you mean. I so want to purhase one of these from RockJock, especially when you consider the price he is selling them for compared to the online stores, but I too don't want to get into 1:48. Oh well, by tomorrow I will have probably broken down and do it.

Yes, I did the same! But with the first Buffs that came out last summer. I also have these 2 on the way. They look great!
