HM Me 110 worth it?

I was just wondering since the 110 has come out what are the opinions of the mob? Is it worth the investment?

I pre-ordered it. It looks pretty good from the photos I've seen and I seriously doubt we'll ever see another company make it. If you want a decent 1/72 scale ME 110, this is it. Your only alternative is IXO's and it doesn't look as good to me.

Are we giving up on the upcoming Corgi early BF-110 version? It seems premature to rate the HM execution as the only game in town on this plane. Indeed, even Model Power is getting in on the act with a promised BF-110 for 2008----which, of course, might actually mean 2009 or 2010.

Oh yeah - I totally forgot about CORGI! HM seems to be much more consistent in the accuracy department though. If or when CORGI finally releases their 110 we will see which company is better.

Re: HM Me 110 worth it?

I have both HM birds on pre-order as well as the Corgi BoB one. It could be a very long time before Corgi get around to doing the later 1943-1944 versions and schemes. In this way everybody's happy as both ends of the spectrum are covered

Re: HM Me 110 worth it?

HM 110 looks pretty good sitting next to my IXO 110. I like the Bf 110 in its day fighter look and pretty happy to have two 110 day fighters to display. Looking forward to the Corgi version to make it three.

Re: HM Me 110 worth it?

First, let me say I am a ME110 man! I love the plane! I am planning to buy one of the night fighters from HM and the Corgi version. For me, this first effort by HM didn't "wow" me. I think the IXO livery is much better!!! As far as the overall quality/accuracy based on photos, I believe HM is clearly the winner over IXO.

Re: HM Me 110 worth it?

Well, I forgot I had it on pre-order. Just picked it up from UPS. I must have gotten the Saturday morning special. The canopy doesn't even stay on the plane when placed on the pegs, but pops off like a mexican jumping bean. The undercarriage guns not only have a gap as discussed earlier, but there are also glue marks around the sides of it. Nose cannon holes were not cut ovals, but small slits. I hope they improve on this on the next version. Maybe Corgi's will be better??

Mine must have been in a different batch than because I had no problems with the one I received. Have you tried contacting the Hobby Master folks about the problems with the model yuo received?
