Thumbs up Re: A letter to Hobby Master

Actually, Jim, only one forum member took the lumber to the HM Bf-110 and beat the snot out of it.Most, if not all, other comments were meant well, but we all have a tendency to get hyper-critical at times. No harm-no foul is the way to address concerns, not threaten to take your custom elsewhere. Hawk is the man. Too bad the other builders don't have their man on the ground who can give constructive feedback.

Re: A letter to Hobby Master

HM puts out models with great detail and somehow still charge a reasonable price. Currently I have six models (4 more on pre order) by them and have yet to be disappointed. I know there is no such thing as a perfect model, but their Brewster Buffalos are definitely top notch. I really am looking forward to what they might be coming out with this year. The fact that they made the Brewster Buffalo, and are considering the Polikarpov I-16 shows willingness to take a chance where others are not so gutsy. Some of the planes that previously have been over looked may just get made. The fact that they actually are willing to listen to customer inputs is to say the least, impressive. Just have to say keep up the good work, and look forward to more nice surprises in the coming year.

Re: A letter to Hobby Master

I agree a nice P-51D is long overdo...
These would be nice ones to make.
No one ever made these yet in a diecast in 1:48.

Stalag, I enjoy the lively debates on the hanger, I agree its silly for anyone to threaten to take their custom elsewhere.
Everyone has different tastes and favourite aircraft. HM imho (big thank you to Hawk) have produced some first class diecast since they came onto the market.
I like some more than others but every month it seems I add another HM to my collection.
I hope the Me 110 is better in person than the photos look, this is often the case.
I just know I will weaken and buy one (well 2 or 3 ok probably every one they put out).

I do admire HMs choice of planes the Texan (everyone needs a T6) and Buff are the latest and they are first rate, and now even I can live with those more subdued panel lines.

I think it is vital that we do all we can to encourage manufacturers to press ahead with new molds, however I think it is also important to that we sometimes point out errors.

Every manufacturer can bring out an indifferent model now and again but the next one could be an absolute cracker so its best to keep our powder dry as it were.

There is no doubt that HM must have invested huge amounts since they came onto the market with their planes, its great for us all and lets not forget it can also have the effect of pushing other makers into trying harder.

2008 looks like being a very expensive but exciting year for us all.

God Bless America.

Re: A letter to Hobby Master

I've said it before and I'll gladly say it again. Hobby Master gets better and more exciting all the time. (And they started out pretty damn exciting to boot.)

Anything for a weird life.

I got'em all - either released or pre-ordered except for the Stuka and Texan.

I wish some company would make dozens of Ds in 1:48; I don't care if it is HM or not, just so long as TLC is given to accuracy, fit, detail, and finish.

Yeah - I mean the P-51D is arguably the best and most popular WW2 fighter there was. Shouldn't we have a really good model of it? Use Tamiya's model as an example.
