Yet another F-4J coming--Exclusive for Britsh Market

I see where Hawk has announced yet another F-4J Phantom; this time an exclusive for the British market (though I suspect they will happily sell it to others). It is an ex- USN F-4J in British RAF sevice. More information and pictures will reportedly follow on Hawk's site. He now describes it as:

1988 winner of the Silver Tiger Trophy
74(F). Sqn
Royal Air Force
F-4J (UK)

Re: Yet another F-4J coming--Exclusive for Britsh Market

Sounds delicious.....

On the rare days I used to get off-work, I'd travel up to Wattisham on the bike in my 'avatar' - taking a 35mm SLR, or Video-camera & gaze & film these beauties taxying, taking-off & landing.

Buying a 'Black-Tailed' 74 Sqdn machine would get me kick-started on a whole new-series to collect.......

So far, the only 'Jets' I have are 2 x F.4's ('Sundowners' & US.Marines) & 1 x A.10, all from CDC Armour/Franklin-Mint.

If Hobbymaster make 'em as good as their Harvards or Avengers, I'll buy a 'shed-load' of F.4's, for certain..........!!!!!!!!!

The first one looks better with the simple tiger stripe. I don't get the tiger meet schemes. A what with the F22 destroying the "Fighter" in fighter pilot. Whats the point?

First one has been done by Corgi (though not accurately) this one gives a little bit of variation and should fit in well with Geminis Spey Phantoms when they are released. Any way we need these tigermeet models (nothing to do with the fact I know the designer of the schemes)

Re: Yet another F-4J coming--Exclusive for Britsh Market

No I was informed that the F22 will eliminate the traditional dogfight. So whats the point of calling someone a fighter pilot. Interceptor maybe. But since the high and mighty F22 has arrived, there will be no more dogfighting. A pilot can go off into the wild blue, kill everything in sight ( well on radar ) and not break a sweat. Sounds like a MAC pilot to me, one take off, one landing.
