Re: DWD Spitfire review (2nd Spitfire issue)

I think it's important to appreciate the fit of the fuselage and wing. It's seamless and makes the model one unit. Other 1/48 diecast models suffer in this area.

Re: DWD Spitfire review (2nd Spitfire issue)

It's great having this model around the house. You know, this 42 year old airplane nut has built Monogram's Mk. IX Spitfire, Revell's Mk. II, Otaki's Mk. VIII, and a Mk. V and Vb. I've never had the pleasure of owning a Mk. XIVc. Thank you Hobby Master!

Great step by step pictures....Where is the final picture of your fixed wing tips?
Does it look straight now ?
JP

Thanks Starman! The "after" pics have been inserted! Thanks for the heads up!

Great job on repairing the wingtips Ara1! The model looks perfect now. I'm pretty confident that I can tackle the problem if my plane has the same issue, thanks to your detailed photos. Cheers!

Thanks Ara - great instructions and review! I like the fact that HM made that wicked prop out of metal too. It's dangerous!

Yes, that prop is very well done. It's a beautiful feature of this model.

If you have any questions just pm me, I am here to help. Be sure to dry fit the parts throughout the process, I didn't mention it enough in my review.

Re: DWD Spitfire review (2nd Spitfire issue)

Thanks for your effort so far. Would be great if you could take some pictures where we can see the J. Johnson and the Newberry side on side. I have the JJ spitfire and would love to see how they are both side on side standing. My newberry spit has a huge delay in shipping. It will come to me maybe in 3-4 weeks

Thanks for pointing this out, Ara. I noted the same in my review of HM's F2A. Not all of HM's models have such outstanding fit as the Spit and the F2A for example, but overall, I think HM nails fit better than any other company out there.

BTW, your step by step pictorial/tutorial for fixing the drooping wings was... well... OUTSTANDING! Well done, and thanks for posting. The pictures are awesome... it does look a beautiful model, more beautiful than I anticipated.
