Pics: HM Luke Field Texan HA1504

This sweet-looking bird came in for a photo pass at DiecastAce Field, courtesy of owner Black6, a couple months ago... just getting around to posting the pics.

Slideshow with more, here (note this will eventually play all of my hosted photo sets, which I can't seem to figure out how to prevent... so just turn it off after the Texan finishes -- or grab a bucket of popcorn and kill some time ):

Review on the site as well.

Enjoy the pics!

Wow.

I was with Pappy when he took these pics and have not seen them until now. I also got to see his photo techniques and I will say that Pappy puts a lot of effort into his work and it shows. Great work my friend, GREAT work.

As for the model itself, I fell in love with it the day I got it, for exactly the reason mentioned by Starman as it being "one really nice fine clean looking A-6." It really stands out nicely and would be the one T-6 I would heartily recommend adding to your collection.

I agree - it looks like the best one to me too - I may just have to get this one.

Re: Pics: HM Luke Field Texan HA1504

I bought this one when it first hit the runway several months ago. I think this is the real standout of my 200 some odd diecast -- it looks almost like it wants to take-off sitting on the shelf. The paint is crisp and detail exceptional.

If they make a Texan from Texas, then I'll get it!

Re: Pics: HM Luke Field Texan HA1504

Mine arrived this very day and I will agree with everyone its a really nicely done model.

I f you collect WW2 then surely this is a must have.
The Texan is without a doubt the most famous of all trainers ever produced and no collection is complete without one.

I am delighted with mine.

(And the 2 P40s and the Minsi and the TBM that came in the same parcel)

(ssssh dont tell Lorraine, she thinks I only bought the FM P40).

Pappy the photos are as good as any proffesional could do, brilliant.

God Bless America.

Re: Pics: HM Luke Field Texan HA1504

It's the only U.S. version made during the war isn't it? Seems only right that we, being mostly WWII collectors would favor it.

It's on my list too. Problem is, my list is sooooooooo long!
