I noticed on Hawk's recently posted news of the planes being shipped in March that it says the HA0201 SBD-2, VB-2, 1941 (presumably the yellow wing SBD) will be shipped in March. I have not seen when the HA0200 SBD-3, Wade McCluskey, Midway, 1942 will be shipped-- it is not listed to be shipped in January or February. Have I missed something? Does this mean that the first SBD to be released will be the HA0201 SBD-2, VB-2, 1941 and the HA0200 SBD-3, Wade McCluskey, Midway, 1942 has been put off till a later date? Thanks.

Yikes!! I hope not - have this bad boy pre-ordered at Pete's and waiting to ship together with a few others to save on freight

Like you, I also have pre-ordered and paid for one of these HA0200 SBD's. I was so worried about this Midway SBD-3 being dropped that I emailed Hawk about it. He responded saying that HM had so much money invested in this SBD that they certainly would not drop it. He also said that he had contacted Hong Kong and was awaiting a response as to when this McCluskey SBD would be released. As soon as I hear from him, I will post the news here, if Hawk does not do it himself.

As I think about it, I cannot imagine that HM would drop this version of the SBD from their lineup. They have announced that it is already sold out to distributors and retailers. Also, dealers have had it on their lists and have been taking preorders for weeks. I would imagine it would leave a lot of distributors and dealers in the lurch if it were dropped. In view of all this, I would imagine that it is still coming and was either overlooked on the February shipment schedule or will quickly follow the yellow-wing SBD. Nothing else makes sense. Hopefully Hawk will soon solve the riddle of the "missing" SBD.

Good news about the Midway SBD-- I heard from Hawkonevoodoo, who heard from Hobby Master. They are saying that the HA0200 SBD-3 is due to leave the factory between January 15th and 18th. So, in about two weeks, it should be starting on its way to us. Thank you to Hawk for running this down.

I really don't deserve any credit on this-- I just contacted Hawkonevoodoo and he ran it down for me. I think Hawk deserves a lot of gratitude from all of us. In addition to running the HM website, he listens and talks to us here and relays our wants and concerns to HM. I think that we are seeing the results of his efforts in the new releases from HM-- many of these being airplanes we have been clamoring for on the forum.
