Okee dokee... I gotta ask (and I will probably get laughed out of the forum, but here goes):

You Phantom experts out there: can you see the turbines in the intakes? If the answer is yes, will HM model them (I think I know the answer to this one)?

You know this place wouldn't be the same without you Elmer

Re: Check Hawk One's site for F - 4

GUYS dump those Corgi's I told you all a while back the prices will plummet. Turn those Corgi bucks into multiple models while you can before the world catches on. soon we will be flooded with Phantoms. I got good money for a Woodbridge MIB the other night sold Annette and Black Bunny and Sundowners LOng ago made good cash. Nothing out will compare to Hm's F-4. There will be lots of camo F-4's to choose from.

Just my 2 cents Corgi's F-4 are very so so.

Great starter models for your pre-teen collectors.

Don't be sentimental DUMP THEM SOON!

Corgi will probably always be a more collectible product but Hm is doing limiteds and catching up fast. It might not take too much for them to be the new Corgi.

Oh Dear, I have 6 of them,.... naw, I think I'll keep 'em.

I'm a-never dumping my Annette... (and how did you get good money for a woodbridge, as that was a TM dump off... you must of got lucky on the bay. I'm upside down on that one...)

I agree from the sense that I am buying less Corgi these days Louie, but not from the dump your Corgis before the market plummets aspect. As long as there is a pooch I think there will be a healthy collectors market for the product and values will hold -- least on the good stuff!

I'm a fan of HM in general and it has done a lot in a little time (perhpas a bit too much as Harry says) but I think it has a ways to go to get in with the hardcore corgi collectors I think from a total package standpoint, but I may be wrong.......

As for this news, I'm pretty stoked -- that's a phantom I've been eyeing in 1:48 and this is much more sensible for my space... (though you can never have too many phantoms, can you?)

Holy smokes, and it's shipping in March?! How'd that one stay under the radar so long -- much be almost done then??? That's very cool if the ship date is accurate...

Re: Check Hawk One's site for F - 4

Annette and her sisters are all going to get kicked to the curb here very soon..Even tank nut will have no use for them. My Corgi Phantoms are probably headed for the landfill to join Gunslinger...

Annette may have been Corgi's first F-4 camo jobby, but she still suffers from the same substandard mold as all the rest of them...I never could figure what all the hoopla was about with this one. I think it's just another one of those things that people just manufactured some hysteria over without really even knowing why.... The only way I would have ever picked it up would have been if I came across it at TM for $14.99, and I wouldn't even give that much for it now..

Re: Check Hawk One's site for F - 4

Seems to be an exciting time for Phantom fans.

Not as long as there´s no "F" or at least an "E". The question really is: can an "F" also be done from a "D" mold by just changing the nose section? However, I just can´t stand those short-nosed spooks. HM, just calm ´em down by giving ´em their "Ritchie´s" and "Showtime 100" and then I don´t want to see any short-nosed ones again! If the others here do - why don´t they just keep their Corgi´s ?? ;-)

Because Corgi's are ? Like most of their other products except for the handful of satisfactory ones.

I actually agree with Muesingman. I was very much expecting the F-4E or F, I do not really know why HM went for the short-nosed one.

I think it a sales strategy : if they had come up with the E first, then we would have rushed to buy it but if they then got the C out, we would all be full of Phantoms and would probably not buy it. However, this way, we will all rush to buy the C, and then when they issue the E, we will rush again. Smart...

So, I do not loose hope that the F-4E is coming sometime. That is the mould where HM can offer the most different models and hence make the most money, and the changes to the mould with respect to the existing C/D would not be greater than, for example, those they have had to make to the Skyhawk moulds to be able to produce the early A-4Bs with short nose and no hump, or the A-4M with long nose and hump.

In any case, to the best of my knowledge, only three countries other than the USA flew the F-4C/D ( Spain, South Korea and Iran ). HM, any chance of a Spanish AF F-4C ? They were 36 second hand USAF ones procured in the early seventies, and Spain did not bother to change the USAF camouflage, only the insignias, numerals and markings as needed. Hence it could be really easy to make one if you have already the USAF one...
