Re: Why I like HM : some of my thoughts...

I only have two so far one of the new RCAF Harvards and the Vraicu Hellcat and was impressed with them now thanks to a sale @ BAC diecast I have three more HM on the way a Midway Dauntless, Bush Avenger and the Russian P-39 I am confident these will be just as nicely done as the two already in my hangar.

Re: Why I like HM : some of my thoughts...

Not to mention that they LISTEN to their customers and reply to their emails! Unlike others *cough* Cor *cough* gi.

When the propeller of my French Hellcat broke off I emailed them about the pros and cons of their packaging. The con being that the planes were too secured and that it was a pain to remove them from the package, which inadverently also caused me to break the propeller. They responded to my email and said they were working on new packaging. Also, per my request, they sent me an extra replacement propeller (although I still haven't figured out how I'm going to replace it) all the way from the factory in Hong Kong and they paid for shipping. That, my friends, is customer service!

I think you will find that since you have a broken prop all you have to do is take a small pair of pliers and grip the prop hub and give it a slow firm pull and the whole prop assembly goes out. All it is is a plastic plug with a hole through it and the propeller shaft goes through it. One end is in the propeller and the other end has a stopper on it to keep everything from falling off. It should just pull out, replace the propeller and push the assembly back into the hole on the front of the engine. I had to replace one that I broke and it took about 3 minutes, if that. Let me know how you make out. Now here is the CYA, you do this at your own risk.

Great post Saeta!

You said it all.

Thank you Hawkone for listening, not being judgemental, for your patience, and for finally giving collectors a voice. A choice to choose what they want.

This is where the other guys go wrong....

If all manufacturers would check on the market and see what would sell (we represent a world-wide cross section of the hobby) They would probably all flourish. Not just in diecast either.

I necourage HM to do more limiteds to draw away from Corgi those that are numbers driven AND to strengthen desire. The after market is a powerful market share builder.

Gonna be an exciting year boys and girls!

Thank you for that info HawkoneVoodoo. I will try that when I get home. Now i won't have to buy a new one. I will let you know how it turns out.

Thank you hawkonevodoo!

It worked just like you said. It's just like new. All along i was thinking that i was going to have to use a dremel saw in order to fix it. Thanks again!

Thumbs up Re: Why I like HM : some of my thoughts...

I currently own about 20 models from HM and love them all !

HM has become my favorite brand.

I particularly appreciate : The care about authenticity, the frequent covering of previously untouched subjects, the daring to offer international finishes, the ease to assemble most models, and the excellent value for money.
