Slideshow Review -- HM Bf-110 HA1801

Overall a very nice model. I tell ya, if there is a panel wash applied here it is very subtle, which should make folks happier. I still wish the lines were not etched quite so deeply but ya can't have everything... at least yet! (And no pilot figures...) But it shoots IXO's effort out of the sky IMHO.

Great slideshow Pappy!!
Honestly, I am NOT impressed with the Bf-110.. Way too IXOish and I feel HM could've done so much better..
I did like the Fw-190 set, very nice.....

I'll wait for Corgi too. Love those 190s. I don't have either of those 3 And the Rudel Stuka is the best one I think. Always said I'd stick with the Armour one but now..........

Darn you anyway! What great pictures!

Re: Slideshow Review -- HM Bf-110 HA1801

Pappy,

Great slide show. I especially liked seeing the SpecCast planes. I might try to get one.

As to the HM 110, I'm extremely disappointed. I've wanted a 110 for over a year now, held off on the IXO one when I heard HM was going to do one and sadly, now that it's here, this one does absolutely nothing for me. If there is no emotional spark, and there really isn't in this case, then I'm not buying. Seems to be the case IMHO with just about everything HM makes lately. I'm really getting turned - off to this company and it's products. Sad as I was one of it's biggest fans when they started out and I had such high hopes. Oh well, maybe Corgi will make a 110 that I can like.

Is your model a pre-production one? I hope so because that huge gap between the front windshield and the fuselage is totally Corgiesque. And what's with the grey spots? Shouldn't they be more "feathered" as if sprayed on like Gemini did on their Galland 109F? While I like the detailed landing gear, the weapons load, and the non-washed lines, I agree with Harry - Hobby Master could have done better.

Do you think Corgi's will be worth $10 more than HM's? I doubt it.

Not to disagree with you Lanslide, but I do think Corgi's will be better and worth the price, but they will also be different versions, so it might be like comparing apples to oranges..

It is better looking than the Ixo version but I don't think it's good enough to pull the trigger on it just yet. I'm hoping Corgi will produce something worth the money

I don't know hworth - $40 is already pushing the limit for a model like this let alone $50 from Corgi. These prices are getting close to 1/48 scale prices.

What are your specific issues if I may ask, Harry? -- I don't go for the night fighter version based on the pre-pro shots, but this one seems okay... The cockpit braces (right term?) might be too heavy, too, what else?

Inquiring minds want to know!
