Re: Slideshow Review -- HM Bf-110 HA1801

Those who love this plane, please by all means buy it and enjoy it including you Pappy. But please don't think that just because you have a love relationship with a particular model or manufacturer that everyone else has to agree with you. I'm a straight shooter. If I don't like it, I'll tell you so and tell you why.

I think Pappy has a very unbiased opinion when it somes to his diecast reviews and can't honestly say he has a "love relationship" with any particular model or manufacturer..

I don't typically "piss and moan" about a model, as a matter of fact, my posts are typically positive ones.. I try and keep that attitude just for the fact that I realize that everyone has different tastes and what I might not care for, someone else might love.. I don't expect everyone to agree with my opinion because it is one of many and not always what the majority thinks..

I don't care for this 110, and I stated why.. I also stated that I felt bad for openly judging this model when I haven't seen it in person for the fact that my post could ultimately affect someone elses decision whether they purchase the model or not.. This is something I see quite often on this forum and I don't think it is good for the hobby and for retailers who ultimately lose/gain sales based on opinions stated on this forum and others.. More often than not, I see a member state "Oh, I didn't know that, I better cancel my preorder with XX retailer".. This attitude not only affects retail sales, but also affects the manufacturer who can't sell their product when people have "picked them apart" to the point that they can only be sold at deep discount.. I am not saying that we should be sheep and accept everything the manufacturer throws at us, but that we should show a little conservative criticizm and not rivet count a $30 model...

Any "axe to grind" that I have was stated in my previous post that Hobby Master, even though they make a nice product, is not good for this hobby in the long run.. We (society in general) have become a "I want it and I want it now" society and waiting a long time for something to be made isn't acceptable anymore.. This attitude isn't what a "collecting hobby" is all about, and it will come to the point, (if it hasn't already), that the market is so saturated with product that manufacturers can't sell what they make and retailers will be very few and far between..

(my 2 cents and my honest opinion, take it or leave it)

Pappy, keep up the good work! Your photography and reviews are much appreciated by me. You have helped me to make some of my diecast decisions.

I agree ...He's reviews and photography are outstanding.

Anyone who calls a diecast plane a toy must be missing some serious screws.

Luckily I have me Elmer Plugs in place so no one will see...

Pappy and Hot Trap,
I know we all have our opinions on things
Lets keep it civil please....
JP

Understood JP, and it was my goal to be civil in my post -- if it appears I wasn't I apologize. I certainly value HT's opinions and contributions to the family here I simply felt I needed to say something in response is all. Already water under the bridge to me.

Re: Slideshow Review -- HM Bf-110 HA1801

Thanks for the pictures.

i think we can all get upset when the model we have waited for forever finally arrives and it's not absolutely perfect. Been there myself - RAF Chinook HC.2 springs to mind!

I buy diecasts because i have a complete lack of talent for plastic kits and no time to build them.

Die-cast is always gonna be a comprise. I rivet count as much as anyone on the things I really like but would still buy it if i wanted it despite the faults.

I'm waiting for the second release - I'm into nightfighters - and will probably get the third one too if I like the first night fighter.

For the money - think this looks nice. Would like to see it in the flesh though.

Certainly, here in the UK Hobbymaster represent good value for money.

PS - I have both the IXO 110's and think they are good for the money too.
