Re: What do you hope to see from Hobby Master for 2008?

ANY WWII soviet VVS aircraft, a 1/72 scale Pe-2 would be amazing! A Lagg-3, MiG-3, La-5(any variant) and La-7 would all be wonderful choices. I think a 1/72 scale MiG-29 would be great, the Witty attempts really don't look very good IMHO. A 1/72 Helldiver would be fantastic, also maybe some Fleet Air Arm stuff, like the Westland Wyvern or Sea Fury. A 1/72 scale Su-25 Frogfoot would be fun as well.

In 1/48 scale, I hope that the I-16 HM annouced last year will be released. I also think that the La-7 or the MiG-3 would make great choices for 1/48 scale. Both are relatively small aircraft with great looks IMO. There is a big range of colorful markings and high-scoring aces to choose from to satisfy the need for multiple releases. Also, both airframes had large portions made of wood, eliminating alot of panel lines to worry about.

All the "wish-listing" (please please please more soviet WWII) aside, I have no doubt that HM will give us plenty to be excited about in 2008! I am really excited about the F-4's in particular.

Re: What do you hope to see from Hobby Master for 2008?

Great minds think a like. Whether this is possible or unlikely, my wishes are (all in 1/72):

P-39 from the 67th FS at Guadalcanal
F9F
Yak-3
SR-71

And (heh) a P-61.

Re: What do you hope to see from Hobby Master for 2008?

Let see, hmmn, what would I like to see Hobby Master put out for 2008. I think my list would look something like this.

1. Brewster Buffalo in Finish Livery for either Warrant Officer Eino Ilmari Juutilainen (34 victories in a Buffalo) or Captain Hans Henrik Wind (39 victories in a Buffalo).
2. Polikarpov I-16 in Spanish Republican markings.
3. Macchi MC 202 wind a sand and spinach paint scheme.

Planes I would like Hobby Master to put out, but doubt I will see any time soon.

1 Curtiss P-36
2.Fokker D.XXI
3.Macchi MC 200
4.Fiat G.50

Oh, and I would like these to all be in 1/48th scale.

P.S. Hope Hobby Master does not totally give up on the panel lines, middle of the road ok, but personally not into the brand new never been out of the hanger look. Brand new look great if you are trying to depict an aircraft restored and on display in a museum, but not so if trying to depict aircraft that had actually seen combat. (or actually been outside in the weather)

Re: What do you hope to see from Hobby Master for 2008?

Middle east wars planes in 1:72 would also be my favourite for 1:72
  • Israeli & Iranian F-4E
  • Israeli Mirage III
  • Syrian or Egyptian Mig-17
  • Since HM missed the chance to issue their Egyptian Mig-21 in Yom Kippur colours, why not a Syrian one to go "next" tho the IAF Phantom ?
...

I would unanimously agree with the release of a MiG-17! Both pending Vietnam F-4s will need worthy adversaries to shoot down or to pair up for a very nice display together. The existing MiG-21 could use a new variant and a scheme as well...say in VPAF (Vietnamese Peoples Air Force) colors?!!!
