Re: What do you hope to see from Hobby Master for 2008?

Some more Skyhawks would be nice.

A marine corps one, a Kuwaiti, Brazilian one....

Would love Tiger Hobbies to do one of the aircraft currently used by BAE systems.

Looking forward to the Huey.

About time someone did an F-111.

Plenty of other century series fighters not represented at all either.

Some more post war carrier types wouldn't go amiss, would be fair to say carrier aviation is always popular, some interesting types but perhaps not all commercially viable...

There also a lot of european types not yet presented.

A Mirage 3/5/50 would be good, a Harrier 2, Mig-23 all would be commercially viable and well recieved IMHO.

Helicopters - loads of gaps to fill!

How about a CH-46 (USN/USMC/Labrador/KV-107) or an AH-1 would be viable.

Or maybe a CH-53???

Perhaps something else - lots of other well used types....

Puma, Lynx, Mil-8/24, Merlin (rear ramp version has plenty of liveries now).

Can't really comment on WW2 types as I've been trying to restrict myself to post war stuff.

Anyway, that's my budget spend for the next two years!

Re: What do you hope to see from Hobby Master for 2008?

I agree with raddger. There's plenty of helos that can be done. I commend HM for creating the Huey in a 1/72 scale. There's plenty of liveries of Vietnam era Hueys and AH-1Gs that can be done. And how about entering into the field of modern USMC aviation, which there is an overwhelming lack of in 1/72 diecast (Easy Model CH-46s so far, unless I am forgetting some). Heck, Dragon hasn't even provided us with a 1/72 USMC Hornet.

To demonstrate the small size of a 1/72 Huey, here's a 1/72 UH-1C that I built much earlier in the year. Next to it a Dragon 1/72 M1114 for size comparison sakes.

Wink Re: What do you hope to see from Hobby Master for 2008?

That said, more Soviet (not Russian - a difference) planes would be welcome to fill a BIG void in WWII models (and NOT just repaints of Western planes with Soviet stars ). And how about some Italian planes? Even that Romanian plane would be welcome (was that the IAR - something and am I the only person saying that?).

One more thing before my soap-box is kicked out from under me - MIDDLE EAST WARPLANES! Israeli built Kfirs, etc. Syrian and Jordanian Migs! A lot of possibilities there to go after.

I agree, something new and unnexpected would be great, for 1:48. Russian, Italian, etc.
Middle east wars planes in 1:72 would also be my favourite for 1:72
  • Israeli & Iranian F-4E
  • Israeli Mirage III
  • Syrian or Egyptian Mig-17
  • Since HM missed the chance to issue their Egyptian Mig-21 in Yom Kippur colours, why not a Syrian one to go "next" tho the IAF Phantom ?
Appart from this, a 1:72 A-1 Skyrider would be very very very sweet...

A 1:72 SR-71. No one seems to have taken on this one yet and its a sharp bird to produce. That's is the one I would love to display in my collection.

Re: What do you hope to see from Hobby Master for 2008?

I would like to see HM continue to make models that nobody else appears willing or able to do (P-39, Helldiver, etc). They may not make them perfectly the first time out the gate (e.g., Mirage, Bf-110) but they remain the most responsive (so far) to anything our little community offers-up in the way of criticism or suggestions for the future.

One more thing before my soap-box is kicked out from under me - MIDDLE EAST WARPLANES! Israeli built Kfirs, etc. Syrian and Jordanian Migs! A lot of possibilities there to go after.

Once again, a big "Thank You" goes out to Hawkonevoodoo for keeping us involved and up to date as to what's going on at HM. For 2008, I wish Century Wings, Corgi, and the others would get someone on here who would do the same...

I second your wishes for some Middle East aircraft. But I hope they don't make ANY Jordanian MiGs!

Re: What do you hope to see from Hobby Master for 2008?

As long as we are talking about wish lists, a 1/72 TBD and an SB2C would be especially nice. Even a 1/72 scale Buffalo would be nice. How about a P-38 in 1/72, preferably an early version, unlike the Corgi-- or an A-20? As I think about it, an F-80, F-84 and any of the Century Series fighters (F-100, F-101, F-102, F-105 and F-106) would be welcome.

More likely-- I still hope the F-4E is still coming. And a Cactus Air Force P-39, or any USAAF P-39 in olive drab or green-brown finish will be good to see.

Re: What do you hope to see from Hobby Master for 2008?

I'm not gonna stop suggesting these until I'm dead and gone, and even then, my successors will continue the battle:

1/48 scale = I-16, MC 202/205, P-39.
