Question Closing the SBD flaps

So has anyone tried or been successful at closing the open flaps on the SBD?

Re: Closing the SBD flaps

I like the open flaps. many SBD's in museums today have their dive flaps open to display them.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

Re: Closing the SBD flaps

I wonder if a closed dive brake insert is available from HM. Both versions of the model use the same metal wing with plastic dive brake don't they?

It's not available but I have suggested this. I don't know if it will happen but it has been mentioned.

Re: Closing the SBD flaps

It's ridiculous that the divebrakes are permanently positioned "open"...The only way that would look right is if they provided a stand which positioned the aircraft in a steep dive (with a crew).....unless of course you're going for that trendy 'museum look'.

Or you're trying to make a Corgi Warbird! Trust me Hobby Master, Corgi DOES NOT need YOU to encourage them. The only solution to not having the dive brakes open that I can see is to not buy the model. Good luck!

Or a steep dive with no crew for that "Bermuda Triangle" look!!
