Re: P-39 Release -- any news?

Is there anyword on when they will be making the Snooks version?

Hey mustangdriver - you and I are the P-39s #1 fans here but I'm curious why you like "Snooks" so much. I like it too but I've noticed that you like this particular one.

Re: P-39 Release -- any news?

I picked up the HM P-39 today at Modellers Choice (Hamilton, Ontario, Canada).
It is a very pretty & detailed model. Comes with a pilot that can be inserted into the cockpit.
Great fit, no damages after pilot is set in...
Modellers Choice has both model markings in. The USAAF as well as the Russian red star...
Judge for yourself. See a few pictures below...Enjoy...

Thanks for the photos aradrom. It's hard to tell from your photos but I'm afraid HM neglected to paint the forward nose guns (I don't mean the cannon in the spinner). Is that true? Hawk's photos seem to confirm this. The nose guns appear to be casted but not painted.

Hey man, we are without a doubt '39 fans. I worked on the restoration of the real P-39 "Snooks 2nd", so it has a special place in my heart.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

Wow! What a great opportunity. What was your contribution to the project?

Re: P-39 Release -- any news?

I helped recover the aircraft to Air heritage museum near Pittsburgh. Restoration was then started there and is being completed to static restoration at the MAPS Air Museum in Akron. I helped clean the aircraft up, and start the initial rebuild.

I can't wait to read your review of HM's release with your unique perspective! I am waiting for the 1st two versions to arrive at my door next week.

Re: P-39 Release -- any news?

How far? You'd think the price of fuel would take a goodly bite out of profits!

Looks like a great model, so it may be about time to not-pre-order from the Mule.

Thanks for the pics, and tell the guys at Modellers Choice they should expand into the Pacific Northwest

Like I posted on my website, they did this with the hopes that they could get the models shipped to everyone that ordered them before Christmas. Now that's going above and beyond the call of duty.

Yes, without a doubt. It's beyond the call even in a community of vendors that offers some of the best service in the online community. Diecast sellers love their subject and their products, and that dedication shows through. I toyed with the idea of selling 1/500 InFlight miniatures, but after looking into what is involved, decided to leave the marketing to those willing to make the time and overhead sacrifices! Anyway, here's passing on a thank you (and a Merry Christmas!) to all of you (including Hawk) involved in this effort.
