Re: HA1407 - A-4E 116 Sqn "The Flying Wing", Israeli Air Force, Yom Kippur War 1973

Hawkonevoodoo's site says this is shipping out on Jan 25th...
Is this really shipping out on Jan 25th?? I haven't even seen any pre pros yet!!
how about that aussie A-4??

This was the original question by Andrew that initiated this lively thread, but it remains unanswered.
Is the date quoted above correct for shipping out this beauty ? Can't be, otherwise we would have seen some pre-production pictures by now...
H1V, do you have some feedback ?

Interesting bit of trivia: One of the first Israeli pilots that formed the fledgling IAF, and flew the Avia, was Milton Rubenfeld...You may know his son by a more familiar name, Paul Reubens aka Pee Wee Herman.

That's even more 'ironic'.

Thanks, I had seen it already. My comment came from the fact that if you are releasing it in the so near future, I would have thought that HM might have by now some pre-production shots or even some pictures of the final thing. Do you know when we will be able to take a look at them ?

I'm sure HawkOne is as much at the mercy of Hobby Master information-wise as anyone, and when he does acquire such information he will pass it along. It has also been stated that due to a certain amount of negative feedback in the not so distant past HM is a bit gunshy about releasing any pre-production shots until they are as close to ready as possible.

This man is right on the money. Trust me, when I get any information or pictures they are on my site within one hour max. When I get pictures I have to download them and they are BMPs about 1.2 megs, I have to convert them to JPEGs, crop, resize twice (because the originals are so large) so you can have the small and large views when you click on the picture and then I have to add them to the website and upload them. So as you can see it takes a little bit of time to get it done.
While I'm talking about my site, whenever any of you visit the site if you don't go to the main page first would you please click on the gold HOME button that you will find on the top of every page. If you do this you will go to my main page and each and every visit will be counted on my visitor counter. The reason I ask this is because the higher the count the more the site becomes a valuable asset for Hobby Master and in turn justifies them continuing to provide me with all the great pictures and information. You don't have to stay on the main page just as long as you go to it even if it is just for a second it will count. Thanks.

Thumbs down Re: HA1407 - A-4E 116 Sqn "The Flying Wing", Israeli Air Force, Yom Kippur War 1973

I dig those pics. I love the Phantoms and the Skyhawks, but the 109 is my favorite.

It wasn't the real thing and they (pilots) called it the Mule. The Avia was a copy produced after the war that didn't perform like the Bf109.

For more info on the Avia S199 check out this link. The major problem with this aircraft was the lack of Daimler Benz engines.
