Re: 1/32 Dauntless Photo's

Does'nt this model come with crew and opening cockpits???, i'm sure the prop won't droop like that on production models.

That and the antenna has a bit of a bend to it.

Re: 1/32 Dauntless Photo's

We gotta have a stand for sure.

I'm not blown away by it but this may be the kind of thing one has to see in the flesh.

Glad I have it coming but agree with the other concerns. $100+/- makes it worth some concern...

So far I like what I see. I may have to breakdown and go get me one, but will wait for another scheme and go from there.

Re: 1/32 Dauntless Photo's

I'll admit I might be wrong on this but I don't think the SBD-3 had the underwing antennas. I've only seen them on photos of the SBD-5.

I'd love to see some shots of the cockpit and any variations on the canopy. Head on view of the engine would also be nice.

And I agree that the prop is off as is the radio mast.

Guys,

BE AWARE that these pictures are NOT final production pictures at all. Hawk's site states that and I am not sure where these (sorry I do know whwere) these pictures have come from and they were supposed to be for review only and not public at this stage!

Hawk's site shows two pictures and states "THESE PICTURES AREN'T THE FINAL PRODUCT. THESE ARE PICTURES TAKEN OF THE MODEL DURING
THE DEVELOPMENT STAGE. I WILL POST PICTURES OF THE FINISHED PRODUCT AS SOON AS THEY
BECOME AVAILABLE. THESE ARE ONLY PRE-PRODUCTION PICTURES"

I don't normally post here on the US site as I am so busy with the UK Forum, but wanted to clarify that for you all. Please be aware when reviewing and commenting as certain aspects on those photographs have been noted!

Thank you

CFBC

Thanks SM. Been a member since it started, but don't get much time over here (apologies) with running the UK one.

I just wanted to clarify to everyone about the pictures and enusre they know before comments get put as this is teh first 1/32nd from HM and I know with talking directly to HM it is important they get it correct and the right images are circulated.

Re: 1/32 Dauntless Photo's

Thanks for the early pre-pro photos RockJock but where did you get them from (remember - we have to give photo credit)? Hawk1 aka Special Agent 001 often posts similar photos of pre production HM models so that we may give positive and negative constructive criticism early enough - that way the models will be all that they can be! This one looks pretty good so far but I am really waiting for a "Battle of the Coral Sea", "Atlantic Theater of Operations", or "Operation Torch" scheme. I just hope I don't snooze and lose a chance to own this model for less than $150.00. Cockpit, wheel well, landing gear, and engine photos would help here, if they are available, since a 1/32 scale expensive model will require great detailing to be successful. This appears to be an enormous project for HM and this model could become THE state of the art and new holy grail of diecast!
