Re: Hey Hawkonevoodoo

Hey Hawk, I picked up the Canadian Tiger Meet CF 104 tonight and played with the 1/48 Spit. Sweet models.
I hope you pass on our good thoughts and thanks for a fine product to HM and not only the stuff we bitch about here.

I give them the good and the bad, there is no sense giving them just one side of the story and this is the way they prefer it. Without both sides they can't get a good idea of what works and what doesn't so feel free to post either. I just ask that if you have a con that you give the reason why you consider it a con and perhaps your thoughts on how it can be corrected. This is what I call constructive suggestions not just bashing because bashing doesn't get anything fixed. I hope you agree with this point of view.

I think we all agree with that Hawk, I hate overdone panel lines but it has not stopped me buying into HM stuff.
The moulds are just so good.

My understanding is that starting in 2008 Hobby Master will make 2 pre-pros of a model, one will have the wash and one won't. They will then judge which one looks the best (within their offices) and that is the finish they will go with. They have found that some colors need the wash and some don't and those that do need it they will do their best to limit the effects. I think this is a compromise and will end the debate for good as far as they are concerned. I think they have tried to accommodate both points of view.

So far they have done a stellar job with regards to their Brewster Buffalo series. Panel lines on these models were done quite nice and made for an exceptionally good looking model. They produced some high quality models that nicely detailed, that is my two cents worth of feed back. Have to say I am quite the satisfied customer.

Talking Re: Hey Hawkonevoodoo

Hey Hawk,
You'll be proud of me. Yesterday I bought my only 2nd non-Franklin Mint die-cast. This beauty below. I also don't go for overdone panel lines, but the camo buffalo's have been done pretty good in my opinion. I was thinking about it yesterday and came to the conclusion that Franklin Mint will more than likely never make a Buffalo and probably not a Panther. Since Hobby Master have these in 1:48, I thought they'd fit in pretty good. It'll be great if the Panther is available without the panel lines, but the dark colored models seem to minimize the affect of the lines anyway. Couldn't pass up the price at my local Hobby Shop either, 32 bucks including tax.

Re: Hey Hawkonevoodoo

Well, since we are sitting on Santa Hobby Master's lap, I'd like a Helldiver and Devastator for Christmas 2008.

Yes, Helldiver and Devastator would be great in 1/72, to fit with their Dauntless and Avenger line.
