Wade McClusky's SBD-3

I have only seen one model and a couple of decals for Wade McClusky's SBD-3. I can't believe that there are so few pictures of such an important aircraft. The couple of views I have seen have a white mark on the rudder and one just above the white diagonal lines on the tail. I assume one is the BuNo., which by the way I have found two different numbers, and the other I have no idea what it is. If you have this 1/48 Hasagawa kit and can read these two white marks I sure would like to know what they say. I circled the markings I'm referring to.

Hey Hawk1...If you don't get any replies here, you may want to try the Naval Aviation museum resource center again. I think I mentioned them when you were looking for the angle of the open dive flaps on the Dauntless

Re: Wade McClusky's SBD-3

Hawk, page 56 of squadron'sSBD walk around shows the tail, above the diagonal lines would say service branch, underneath that the bureau number. On the rudder was the model designation, SBD-3.

Thanks again. I forgot all about that place. It worked well the last time. I appreciate the reminder.

Thanks, I went through my list of over 350 books and this has to be the only one on the SBD that I don't have. But this does get me started in the right direction. By the way, welcome to the forum, glad you could make it.
