Re: Hobby Master News Page

New HM 1/32

Just saw that their first 1/32 release according to HM's site will be Wade McClusky's SBD-3 from Midway. Now that is an interesting choice, and I will be adding it, though one wonders how many liveries HM will be able to milk out of that, as well as what features it will have (ie. opening canopies and retractable gear...a la corgi.) I'd really like to see them do an F4F and F6F as well as perhaps an F4U to compliment this. If they were to put out an Fw 190 and Spit IX, I really think they'd be in a strong position in the diecast market.

Re: Hobby Master News Page

I'm holding out for the second 1/32nd HM offering. Though the Dauntless is great for starters, I don't feel like I'm going to get this one simply because I already have it in both 72nd
and 48th scales. Even with added details for it's size, it just ain't the deciding factor for me anymore. One thing I hate is too much redundancy of the type for my collection, regardless
of scale.

My .02 worth opinion....

Re: Hobby Master News Page

We're also finally getting a Navy bird from the Atlantic in the white/gray color scheme :

HA0133 - SBD-5, VMS-3 "Devilbirds", U.S. Virgin Islands, 1944, Major Christian Lee

I was hoping for a TBF/TBM Avenger in this scheme. Hopefully HobbyMaster will still do one down the road, but the SBD looks good, too.

I may get this SBD, but would have preferred an Avenger from the Atlantic.

Yes, FlyXWire, I'm thinking along the same lines. But I'm a sucker for 1/32, so I may break down anyway. Still pondering. Probably will depend on quality/price factors.

I do wish they had picked the Corsair or Hellcat for their first attempt at that scale, though, if you are going to go with WW II US Navy...

I like the looks of that Chengdu J-7. It'll be my first mig-21 when I get it. Wouldn't mind an eastern european camo mig too
