Re: This baby looks good.

That looks good alright. I'm not into the early US jets but will be keeping an eye out for this one. 1/48 then? That is a shame.

Re: This baby looks good.

I have to admit that I am a little disappointed about the attitude here about 1/48th scale. It is one thing to say that you don't collect it, but another to say, "Oh that is a waste", What a shame. Guys talot of people collect 1/48th scale. It is the standard scale to collect. I colect all scales, so it doesn't bother me. I just wish you all would give it a chance. I have heard people say "I wish people wouldn't make 1/48th scale stuff, so that they can make more 1/72nd scale. That isn't cool. The Panther is going to be a great looking aircraft in this scale.

Re: This baby looks good.

I think in time you see a Panther in 1:72 scale.
Right now a 1:48 scale of one of these is great....I'll be picking this one up and if
they make Ted Williams Panther i'll get that one as well.
I feel fortunate that we have a great company like Hobby Master making the Panther for us.

Amen to that MD!

Sometimes I feel a little alone collecting 1/48 scale.

Sorry Mustang, but I went to my local hobbyshop a couple of days ago and of the 35 feet of model space, more than half that display space was dedicated to 1/72 scale models. They are cheaper, more plentiful, and take less room. I don't see 48th scale as the "standard" to collect. In fact, most of the guys who I've associated with as a plastic model builder prefer to build in 1/72 scale. I don't have the room nor the cash - no matter how beautiful the model nor how rare the subject to buy 1/48 scale. Besides, I could buy two 1/72 scale planes for the cost of 1 48th scale one. I'm glad HM made this plane for all you 48th scale lovers, but remember, we are all not in love with this scale.

Re: This baby looks good.

My main beef is just with people bashing the scale that's all. If you don't collect it, that's cool, but alot of people do. I just hate to hear 1/48th scale called a shame.
