Re: This baby looks good.

Just curious aeroeng - what does the Franklin Mint have to do with your decision to get one?

Probably because there are few things in life quite as satisfying as gazing at an under-detailed model that you just paid an over-inflated price for...and hey, those babies weigh a ton. And that's what we love...HEAVY HEAVY, shelf-sagging, bank-breaking, shipping rate-swelling slabs of steel that take up acres and acres of real estate and yet somehow still manage to fail to inspire..

Now don't you feel silly for asking?....

Well, it's all a matter of perspective ain't it?

Given the diversity of peoples choices I gather that everyone should spend his hard earned dough the way he wants...

Geez, Stalag, I was thinking the same thing. I almost wish to build a diorama of the "Toko-Ri" bridge and place the model in it for some pics. That was a great movie too!

I'd like to see squadron schemes and markings from "Toko-Ri" and "Men From The Fighting Lady" films as well. I really like your bridge dio idea there, B6!

Re: This baby looks good.

Personally I collect both scales. Heck, I even have a couple if 1/144 sitting there as well. I like the diversity of size in my display cabinet. I have about a dozen 1:72 Mustangs and they look great surrounded by 1:48 and 1:35 models. Furthermore, I really can't wait for the 1:32 SBD to come out. But bottom line -- the Panther will look great.

Re: This baby looks good.

used to have a load of FM 48 scale stuff but have been recently getting rid of them because I just don't display them any more due to space considerations.

Almost exclusively display 1/72 scale now.

Having said that - Panther is a nice size for 1/48 scale....

Might be pursuaded to part with my money when i see one in the flesh.
