Re: What would like to see next from Hobby Master ?

Hello all,

I'm the newbie.

My preference for collecting is 1:48 aircraft from the Commonwealth forces during WWII. Three models I would like to add to my collection are the Fairey Swordfish, Blackburn Skua, and the Gloster Gladiator.

They're somewhat obscure, but I didn't expect to be adding Buffalo's to my collection either....

Hi there Canuck! Welcome to the forum.

Even though I have the Corgi 1/72 versions of the Gladiator and Swordfish, I have to agree they'd be even better in 1/48. Great to see another 1/48 collector in this space. You'll find the majority here deal mostly with 1/72, but a few of us like the bigger scales (although I in fact dabble in just about every scale there is from 1/144 up). How do you like that Buffalo, isn't it great? Makes you want more in that scale from HM, that's for sure.

I know I'm totally dreaming but while I'm on my Vietnam kick why not a 1:72 C-141

I'll add my welcome to you also, Canuck!

As for FVD's very accurate comment, I'd LOVE to collect a lot of 1:48 (and I do have a few of them), just don't have the room, so 1:72 it is, primarily. (and I STILL don't have the room .)

Re: What would like to see next from Hobby Master ?

Hello Canuck, a 1/48 Swordfish would be something special thats for sure and I would buy it no probs.

I dont think we will ever see it made, I think it would be too complex and expensive to make, but one can dream.

God Bless America.

Thumbs up Re: What would like to see next from Hobby Master ?

Hello Canuck, wellcome. Nice to see more 1:48 collectors like me...

I agree with Canuck, Jim and FVP that a 1:48 model of a Swordfish would be amazing ( chrome, with a big torpedo underneath, full wing rigging ). I thought about mentioning it in my initial list for this thread, but discarded it because, like Jim, I doubted anybody would ever make it. But I would certainly pay good money for it ( sell some of my FM/A if needed... ) if it was well made.

There are nice pictures of a 1:72 Swordfish (corgi) in this rather well made website. It looks sweet, and it makes you dream of what detail HM could have on a 1:48.
With a A-1 Skyrider, a Swordfish would be at the top of my list.

To me, the Swordfish would be the "modeller's model".
