Pics Captured Stuka

Picked up the HM Captured Stuka (601 Squadron) this week. Here are a few pics if anyone is interested. The dark upper surfaces are a testament to how nice the HM wash/inked panel lines can look if in moderation. Interesting to see British roundels on the Ju-87. The yellow undersides are not quite as yellow as they appear in these photos.
Box now includes reference to limited edition of model and includes card indicating model number (x of 1300).

Re: Pics Captured Stuka

Nice shots.
I just got in a few of these & I was really surprised at just how nice a model it was.
I wasn't that excited about it at first but once I saw it in person IMO it's up their with the best HM Stukas.

Thanks for posting the pics Old Crow I have this model on order choosing it in preference to the Corgi Club Ju87 on the basis of cost & from the pics I dont think I will be dissapointed.

Nice looking piece. Would like to pic one up to put along side my soon to arrive Collector Club "Captive Eagle" Stuka. I think they'd compliment each other.

Thanks for the great pics of the Captured Stuka, O.C.! I am quite tempted to capture this one myself.

Re: Pics Captured Stuka

Outstanding pics and information. Thanks OC. The finish does look very, very nice. I can't, however, find captured birds that interesting. Looks like a real nice model, though.

Yes, I agree Elmer. Not for me either but neat never-the-less.
Well, after seeing one in person at Big Guns Collectibles yesterday. I ended up buying one.

Re: Pics Captured Stuka

With my Night Fighter Avenger I also received the HM "Captured" Ju-87. As anyone who knows me can tell you (ok, just PappyB), I am a big fan of the Ju-87 and have a "few" in my collection. This is my first from HM and I am very pleased with it. It feels to me to be about the same weight/heft as a Corgi version of the plane. The paint is crisp and it does stand out on the shelf a bit. But overall this is a very nice model.

The Good
  • Paint and decals are crisp and nicely applied.
  • Panel lines are just right IMO (and would like great on their other models if applied in a similar manner).
  • It came with its LE certificate!
The Bad
  • Not bad really, but the paint might be a little too "crisp" as it looks like a new plane off the assembly line.
I would give this model a good 8 out of 10 and would recommend adding it to your collection if you like the Ju-87 in an unusual condition - captured.
