See this thread: Pics Captured Stuka

Sorry the pics are not better but it gives you a pretty good idea. Having never seen the real deal I can't say if the yellow is too bright but it seems acceptable to me.

Re: HM captured stuka

If it is supposed to be RAF trainer yellow, would have to agree it looks a bit to bright.

Re: HM captured stuka

I've got the bird and I think it is great. I have no idea on to bright or not, but she looks great on my shelf. It's a neat bird and I think you'll enjoy it.

Any chance of posting some photos of it?

Re: Pics Captured Stuka

Cruver,
Hey there. I'll see if I can break out my peice of crap digital camera. From the pictures I took a year or so ago, I don't think they are going to offer much, but I'll see what I can do.

Cool Re: Pics Captured Stuka

real pleased to read that our little piece of research for HM was so well received by collectors.....and great pics Old Crow

about the paint being too 'crisp' one needs to bear in mind that this machine was repainted over almost completely by the RAF to help it being identified as a friend...and all pics i have seen to date of it show it to be in pristine condition...let us also remember that this plane was written off within just a few months of it coming under 'new management'

i trust that the italian stuka, our second project with HM, was also well received in the States

further projects being planned with HM

Thumbs up Re: Pics Captured Stuka

Hi smartd

can't mention the future releases being consulted upon for obvious reasons

about the Captured Ju87D, had seen pics of that on several books and when HM made the casting for it i suggested it to them, that was about a year ago and got the prepro in summer, made a few corrections namely roundels, yellow paint, bombs etc and it was released last autumn

with that Stuka D being managed by 601 Sq, a spitfire squadron in the MTO campaign, it had the added ingredient that a number of models of 601 had already become available for same squadron, even from the jet age....in fact another 601 by HM is the third airacobra being released....601 had a most noteworthy history spanning decades

the italian version stemmed from an earlier suggestion which had been temporarily shelved....given the choice between 216 and a 207 squadriglia machines, historically both had slightly more attractive markings than the general RA liveries of the time for the Dora variant....first preference was for the 207 with the shorter wheelspats, however given that it would have been rather heavy on straight plastic bogeys we opted for the covered version with number 12 in red on them....this made the model even more attractive

the 207 machine also highlights a time of internal conflict between the axis powers of its day, whereby the former LW escorts afforded to the italian stukas was withdrawn as the luftwaffe retreated from italy in 1943....leaving 2 groups of italian stuka to sort out the allied landings and advances singlehandedly....in an ensuing air battle 207 ceased to exist

from the info i have the casting for HM's Stuka D this will now be given a break of about a year....does not exclude that HM may opt to utilise it sooner if they want to

my research has now shifted onto the bf110G and some more modern types

btw....am a collector of diecast planes too ....1,000+
