Mirage 2000C front landing gear doors

I posted this on my website News page as well.
http://www.hobbymastercollector.com/

"Hobby Master HA1601 and HA1602 Mirage 2000Cs were originally shipped with the front landing gear doors
missing. Hobby Master is rectifying this oversight by shipping the doors to the distributors who in turn will
send them to the retailers. If you have these 2 models you should be able to contact the retailer that you
purchased them from and he/she can supply you with them. Hobby Master was trying to have them included
with the shipment leaving the end of September but I would guess they won't make it until the shipment the
end of October. It usually takes about 6 weeks from the time the shipment leaves Hong Kong until the
retailers have them in stock. If you contact the retailer and they don't have them yet perhaps you can
arrange for the retailer to notify you or just send them to you when they are available. This is something you
will have to work out with them. Hobby Master would like to apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused."

Re: Mirage 2000C front landing gear doors

The doors were missing --I had thought they were molded on in teh open position? (If not, what are those small tabs on either side of the nose gear bay? I am far from well-versed when it comes to the Mirage... )

Thanks Hawk!

Yeah I agree with you there. From photos I've seen, it looks clean as a whistle with gears up. no little tabs. so does that mean its just a cover for the hole?

Sorry for the confusion, I should have said the doors for the wheels up position.

Re: Mirage 2000C front landing gear doors

but future models won't have the molded front doors in open position too right?

Sorry, still confused... if the open doors are molded on, how do you add closed doors?

I'm waiting for clarification and I will post it as soon as I have it.

Re: Mirage 2000C front landing gear doors

I'm guessing that its just to cover the wheel well WITH the doors molded open. Just so you don't see the hole. But we'll have to wait and see i guess

For the first 2 releases HA1601 and HA1602 you are correct. There will be an insert or plug that goes into the empty wheel well of the nose gear and this will be the closed door, wheels up configuration. The 3rd release and onward won't have the front doors molded as part of the fuselage and will be removable for the wheels up position. Unfortunately the first two releases have the doors molded as part of the fuselage and the best they can come up with is like you say something so you don't see the hole. I have a couple of pictures showing the part but I asked for another picture shot at an angle so the parts show up better. I will post the pictures on my website as soon as I have them completed. I'm also trying to arrange for the pre-production pictures be made available to me as early as possible so I can post them and you guys with your expert knowledge can scrutinize them. This will allow me to get any problems back to the engineers at Hobby Master in time for corrections. This will help produce the best models possible from the first to the last model in any series. Who knows maybe I'm getting the pictures as soon as possible now and if so I will try to get them posted even faster than usual. Your input is always appreciated by me and Hobby Master.

Thanks for the clarification Hawk -- it's cool that they're doing this.
