Talking Re: Hobbymaster Mk X1V Spitfire

Thanks Johnnyboy for the intel. They look great and seeing the quality of their 1:48 Buffalo, we should expect good stuff.
Also, the choice of Mk.XIV is nice. I think it is the most beautiful Spitfire ever built, although they probably chose it for marketing reasons alone.
Any idea of :

- When will they hit the shops ?
- What paint schemes / units are foreseen or being considered ?

I think this is a great time to be a 1:48 WWII aircraft collector... I better start saving money...

Re: Hobbymaster Mk X1V Spitfire

I've tried to stay away from 1/48 models......
When hobbymaster announced the buffalo I decided that it wouldn't hurt to buy one plane in that scale...
But now....
Well....I guess it's time to make space because these beauties are really must haves!!!!

Re: Hobbymaster Mk X1V Spitfire

Woah, very nice! Can't wait to get those little puppies in my collection.

I love the fact that they are apparently making both the faired and bubble-top canopy versions, and elliptical/clipped wings as well. That means I'll have to get at least two. I hope the price will be around what HM asked for the Buffalo (extremely reasonable for what you get).

Yes, exactly the same for me! FormerViperDriver was with me here in Orlando a few weeks back and when we went to Big Guns shop here in town, I saw it and had to have it...well both versions.

Yeah, it was funny: I go in there as a 1/48 collector (certainly not exclusively, but primarily) and buy one Buffalo, and Mike walks out with two!

I kind of regret not buying the other (silver/yellow) one, though (when I get to Orlando next time...). These HM models are great. Looking forward to the Spit XIV! I do hope HM will continue their 1/48 line for a long time, both aircraft and armor.

Re: Hobbymaster Mk X1V Spitfire

Hobby Master really "hits a homer" by releasing the "bubble top canopy" for the MKXIV Spitfire, as it really opens the door for the later MkXXII-XXIV variants as well!
