Re: Hobbymaster Mk XIV Spitfire (Now w/pics)!!!

Hawk has again updated his site with additional pictures of JEJ, and... exciting information! Jump on over and check it out! BTW, obviously there is a lot of interest in this release; with 98 replies and more than 3,500 views, this thread has become the second largest in the HM forum area (interestingly second to the P-61 poll).

(Also BTW, I think it goes without saying, but I am going to say it: HM please don't disappoint with exposed screw heads on this release!)

Message has been passed to the appropriate people.

Re: Hobbymaster Mk XIV Spitfire (Now w/pics)!!!

Being a tad fond of 'ye olde Spit' (32 on hand) I will be keeping some 'bugs bunny' (cash) aside for this beauty albeit in 1/48 scale which I don't collect. Did'nt collect until now correction. From the pre-pros it seems to setting the bench mark. Well done to all concerned. Now all we need is a MkVb and MkIX!!

Suggestions noted and passed to Hobby Master.

Shamrock, you will need some 1:48 friends and foes to go along with any Mk. XIVs you acquire... may I suggest C1's Fw 190D and EI's P-51? Try 1:48, you'll like it!

Yeah, ZS-VAN, you are. There are EIGHT. This may be a stupid question, but are you looking on Hawk's site?

Re: Hobbymaster Mk XIV Spitfire (Now w/pics)!!!

I've worshipped the Carousel FW-190, P-40, and ME-109 from afar. The Hobbymaster Buffalo also has me very interested. "Space The Final Frontier" is a serious problem as it is for most of us. I had to let go all my Minichamps armour to conentrate on aircraft.

Earlier in the early stages of my addiction I picked up some Armour models. B-25, P-40, Spitfire, Lightning, and Hurricane. IMHO they seemed very plain (heresay to some collectors) with not a huge amount of detail. Also decals had started coming off.

With the arrival of Carousel & Hobbymaster I will revisit some of my 1/72 themes and do some culling to make room for some selected 1/48 goodies. If my kids starve and get no toys this Christmas I'm blaming you Elmer!

I have a friend who loves 1:48 but has decided to stick with 1:72 because of space issues. I told him it is a matter of priorities my friend. If you can't have a few 1:48 models around, your priorities are screwed up; get rid of some junk in the house (don't let your wife see this!) and make space.

I agree. In my judgment, C1's, EI's, and HM's SATISFY! They present fit, finish, and detail appropriate for 1:48 scale.

Should HM pursue the 1:48 factor. My one reply is.'Where are the boxes!!!.....It's bedtime for little 72.......s'.

Well actually yes! I just looked again. I'll try getting rid of all the old cookies.
