T-6 UK Special Scheme (exclusive for UK market)

My local hobby store got these in from Hobbymaster last week.
Supposed to be exclusive to Tiger Hobbies in UK.
Not only does he have them, they were all low numbers including # 0001 of 1000.
A store employee snatched this for his own collection.
So, I suppose, what does exclusive mean? And if they came with the blessing of the UK "owner" why would they ship #0001 to another seller?
I was tempted by #0021 but will wait for Canadian versions and hope we get low cert. numbers here.

Re: T-6 UK Special Scheme (exclusive for UK market)

The rumour is that some UK T-6's are being swapped for some exclusive Canadian T-6's so they are available in different countries , saving on extortionate postage.

That rumour has to be false. The UK T-6's are available through the Canadian Distributor, while the Canadian T-6 are coming through the US Distributor. But I believe the US Distributor is not carrying the UK T-6, or at least it was not on the last price list.

I think you will find that they are exclusive to Tiger Hobbies in the UK. This means that Gary from Tiger Hobbies, who is the UK distributor, commissioned this particular model and he paid the the cost to have them made. They all belong to him and he alone decides where and who gets the model to sell. It's the same for the Modeller's Choice Canadian versions. They have sole say about the sale of them, these are not being distributed by Hobby Master. They were made by Hobby Master and that is where it ends as far as they are concerned. Maybe Tiger Hobbies has worked something out with Canada and other countries, he has 1,000 of them to sell. As far as the numbers on the certificates go I think the models are packed randomly and there is no order to them. A box might have #001, #287, #921 and so on. This way one store doesn't get the motherload by receiving the first 100 if he has ordered 100 models. At least this is my understanding of how it works.

Thanks once again Hawk.
At least Tiger Hobbies has the pre-pros. But I would be ticked if I commissioned a run and did not get #0001 for myself.
As usual it looks like an excellent model, and well worth buying, ( if you are not waiting for the Canadian Harvards that is).
