Ah...you've sanded off the lines from the radome? Btw, nice job!

Re: HOBBYMASTER OPERATION DAGUET MIRAGE 2000C my corrections

radome filled sanded and repainted correct colour of dark ghost grey
pitot thinned out and profile corrected, painted correct colour silver/chrome
all pylons and centre line tank repainted correct colours aluminium/light ghost grey not gunmetal
refuelling probe repainted correct colour black
missiles repainted light ghost grey, the seeker heads on the magics were painted [still to add black and blue bands]
various aerials and ecm antenna painted correct colours
pilot figure added from mig 21, again he was repainted
the exhaust can was weathered with tamiya weathering master silver and soot
its a nice model that can be made more accurate with a few of these simple mods.
here is a pic of the prepro and a profile to compare them with
note the other inner pylons are not used as these are only fitted to the uprated MIRAGE 2000-5,export and the 2 seat strike versions

zed - you did a great job on that Mirage! I have one of these and I will try some of your color corrections on mine too. Thanks for posting the photos.

Re: HOBBYMASTER OPERATION DAGUET MIRAGE 2000C my corrections

Good job, Zed. I have the blue one, and I like it but that line on the radome just bugs me. I'm going to do what you did (the radome, that is. I can live with the rest of the imperfections).

Now why did HM feel they had to put that line there in the first place? Does it save them money (easier manufacturing process)? Does it make the model look better (not in my opinion, that's for sure)? Go figure...

Superb work Zed. I got mine last night and I have to say that it is a very impressive piece of metal even without your excellent modifications. I just wish that they would give a pilot figure which would be removeable although I believe that this is happening in the future. Thanks for the upskilling tips Zed.

Re: HOBBYMASTER OPERATION DAGUET MIRAGE 2000C my corrections

it is a fine model that just need's that final bit of detail, having done a bit more research i found pictures of the real jet and the FRP was indeed the same colour as the camo!
oh well back out with the paint, just finishing the same mods on the blue camo release.
please hobbymaster improve the radome on the tigermeet release along with the starfighter pitot.
