Re: How about a Curtiss P-36/Hawk 75 in 1/48th scale

I've been longing for a P-36 in diecast for almost as long I longed for a P-40. I would love nothing more than to see this bird done. The Pearl Harbor birds would be a very welcome addition.

Also, didn't Finland fly these in the Russo-Finnish war? That would go great next to my winter Gladiator.

(Apologies if this was mentioned earlier in the thread, but I missed it if it was and anyway, it needs to be said again!)

Yep they were in Finnish service too.

Yeah... me too, this is my absolute favorite P-36 scheme.

Ditto...I always wanted a Pearl Harbor version, but the one mentioned above may have slightly moved into first place.

Nope, Continuation War (i.e. WWII) and Lapland War against the Germans. Surplus French and Norwegian ones. I have a very rare Finnish book (unfortunately, in Finnish published in 1975) on Curtiss Hawk 75A service in the Finnish Airforce.

Here are some thumbs from that book as well English write up

Unfortunately, I doubt that you'd see a version in accurate Finnish markings due to the ignorance surrounding the use of the hakaristi i.e. swastika

Thanks for taking a look at this Hawk. You are the man.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

Count me in, yes a P-36. I would also go for a P-35 in Pearl Habour colours and in Swedish schemes. Yes a Peashooter too!

Re: How about a Curtiss P-36/Hawk 75 in 1/48th scale

I have a plastic 1/72nd scale model of the P-36 that looks something like this.

But I sure would like to have a diecast one in either 1/72nd or 1/48th with a paint scheme something like this.

Hello CC,
thats a nice photo of the Fighter collections Hawk at Duxford.

You dont need to ask where I stand on this issue, this was a state of the art fighter when it first came out.

It was as good as anything in its day, very underated and forgotten plane (except here).

This would go straight to the top of my most wanted list.

HM how about it , but go easy on the panel lines.

You make em and I will buy every example.

They will sit very nicely with my P40s.

God Bless America.
