Re: How about a Curtiss P-36/Hawk 75 in 1/48th scale

I agree 100%. There are terrific USAAC / USAAF schemes than can be done, and it would be most impressive at 1:48 scale. I badly want interwar USAAC fighters so I welcome anything P-1 through P-36 (bust especially P-1, P-6E, P-12, P-26 and P-36)!
I shouldn't leave out USN interwar fighters either!

I like your style Elmer.

I'll take a 1/48 and a 1/72 please since I can't make up my mind on which scale to continue collecting!

The 1939 War Games finish would make for an interesting looking P-36.

Sorry, I don't know this, can you post something?

This is picture shows formation P-36s sporting wargames paint schemes. Found few pallets off of Wings Pallet site that give more detailed view of paint schemes. I remember when I was a wee tad and building a 1/72nd scale kit of a P-36 and one of the paint schemes described was from these wargames. I will see if I can dig anything else up on these wargames.

That last profile is one that I would like. Also do the one that is in the NMUSAF which was one of the only aircraft to get airborne the morning of Dec. 7th, 1941.

Would this be the aircraft flown by Lt Larry Brown on the morning of December 7th be the one you are interested in?

Re: How about a Curtiss P-36/Hawk 75 in 1/48th scale

I think the one that mustangdriver was referring to was the natural metal one with red and white tail fin stripes #86 flown by Lt. Rasmussen.

That is correct, although both would be good schemes. The one in the NMUSAF is the polished one.
