Re: Luftwaffe and JASDF F-104s

raddger, I believe the HM German Starfighter is a Marineflieger F-104 scheme/livery you're looking at, if I may say so myself. The tail-tale
numbering below the cockpit area is typicaly used by the German Navy. Actually, I do hope Hobby Master will add a padprint of "Marine" on
there plus the German symbol for their navy a/c:
just like it's depicted in this picture below, so there won't be any ambiguity as to where this a/c actually belongs to.

There are a few more things that have to be considered when doing a Marineflieger F-104G than just adding the German Navy Markings. From the early 70īs onwards, the green part of the splinter camo scheme simply had been deleted which means that the Marineflieger F-104 had all just grey top sides, as it is shown in the pic above. Then, the correct squadron badge has to be applied - either MFG1 (above) or MFG2.

I would like HM to do a German Navy F-104 with its special air-to-surface missiles AS 30 or the later used Kormoran 1 (@ Hawk: if HM really should ever do this, please note that the underwing pylons for the missiles were quite different from the pylons for the underwing fuel tanks!)

Re: Luftwaffe and JASDF F-104s

I agree with the post above! Now just to get the ball rolling for a Marineflieger F-104G diecasts for HM to ponder about and hopefully make it happen, I've included some photos scoured from
the net as well as noteworthy links references for Hobby Master to peruse. Check out the Kormoran missile equiped MFG1 F-104G below.

Re: Luftwaffe and JASDF F-104s

I have all the HM Starfighters to date and I'm hoping to get the three JASDF versions.

Looking forward to a German machine.

Have the predators one in it's way.....

Just to be awkward I really want a Marineflieger one - always saw them at airshows in my youth!

raddger

Good luck with the 2 new JASDF releases which are limited to Japan only..(Still at least 1 willbe available).this is where I have to differ from other collectors/enthusiasts this is a real pain especially as these are operational squadron liveries better than the "specials " like the Greek Olympos .

If any one tracks dowm a Japanese seller let us know please :-)....HobbyLinc Japan have stopped pre-orders on these 2 planes as they say stocks cannot be guaranteed.

Probably never happen too many changes to the model (Pessimistic Paul)...4 tanks is what you will get....

I think it is all in Japanese but maybe not. If it is maybe someone can translate for you.
