| Re: The Best Overall Stuka Both models are awesome; you can't go wrong with either company. I gave the nudge to Corgi because of the outstanding and eye-catching liveries and for putting swazis on the tail (the first four HM models suffer from lack of swazis; in my judgment, a bad mistake by HM; I would have purchased three of the first four had swazis been pad printed on... I know you can decal them, but it just isn't the same. So, I only purchased one). I think the fit of Hobby Master's Stuka is a little better than Corgi's. Your favorite may also be affected by which Stuka variant you prefer. Ironically, I actually prefer the later model Stukas over the earlier. So... I don't think this thread is in the wrong place; it is a thread seeking comparison data on the HM and Corgi models. It could go in either section. | |||||||||||||

A valid point. As for the swastikas not being on the first few models. Hobby Master was just starting out in the business and had been, what would I say, misled into believing that it was illegal to use swatikas everywhere in the world. Being new at the game and naive it took a short time for them to learn that this wasn't so. By that time they had produced the first 4 Stukas but once they found out the truth they immediately went to work to produce all their Germany airplanes with a swatsika. I guess you can chalk it up to growing pains.

Interesting, Hawk. And a real shame also. I purchased one of the tankbusters; I love it then, and I still love it. I hold it as my favorite HM model in my collection. I really hoped HA0113 and HA0129 would be released with the correct tail insignia. These models have livery schemes as eye catching and appealing as any Corgi Stuka. If they had tail swazis and human-like crew (as Corgi's have), I would have given the edge to HM (given my preference for the later Stuka variants). This whole comparative thing may be splitting hairs some, for Corgi's Stuka is terrific and future HM Stuka models might yet deliver the goods.

I guess this is what you would call growing pains. The crew are starting to come and I'm pushing for a crew for every model but it takes time and money to develope these figures and have them look half decent. The P-39s have a pilot and the 1/48 Spits too. The Brewsters will have a pilot and a few more and like I said hopefully it will expand to every model. There is no denying the other companys do make some nice Stukas.
