Stalag8611,
Despite the fact that I have that bird sitting just a foot from my monitor, I can't get enough pictures of that plane. Thanks for posting, it's perhaps my favorite scheme for any plane that I own.

Anything for a weird life.

Re: SBD-3 USS Lexington

My favorite scheme as well. I also have the Marine 1/48th Dauntless by FM in pre-war colour as well, and I've a soft spot for pre-war colour scheme naval a/c especially for the 1930's era bi-planes. As soon as Carousel 1's F4F Wildcat of the same pre-war colour scheme hits the discount bin, I'll spring for one.

Very nice shots of the Lady Lex SBD, Stalag...thanks for the pics!

Re: SBD-3 USS Lexington

Excellent photos, stalag. To date, that’s one of Hobby Master's finest warbirds (IMHO). It’s getting extremely hard to find, too. In case anybody’s interested, you can find one here.

I have all of the HM SBD's and I like this one the best too. Great pics and thank you!

Re: SBD-3 USS Lexington

Fab pics Stalag. You have captured the yellow so well I'm reaching for my shades! Those pre- war birds were a thing of beauty. This month's Aeroplane magazine has a Hawker Nimrod pre- war biplane on the cover with the garish squadron markings and silver dope. Beautiful.
