Re: HM, please make this Skyhawk

I keep suggesting this plane and pass on the request from the forum so hopefully it will be done.

Have you heard back from the head honchos at HM about this one yet?

Cool Re: HM, please make this Skyhawk

I really like the Israeli liveries and more importantly their combat records. Last night and today I watched Dogfights on the History Channel featuring the Conflict in the Middle East. Those Israeli pilots sure have the right stuff! The program featured numerous Israeli jet aces flying Mirage IIIs and F15s.

This Friday's HC Dogfights schedule: DOGFIGHTS OF THE HOLY LAND will feature a second segment of the Israeli airforce flying ACES! Hopefully, it will show some A-4 drivers who also shot down some enemy jets.

Nothing official but I keep suggesting it, I'll eventually wear them down I think.

I think Witty's Israeli F-6's were quite popular, so I think the A-4 would be the same

Cool Re: HM, please make this Skyhawk

I have just seen this thread, and I HAVE to write in it, it is a very interesting one.

I would also love to have the IDF/AF A-4 ( plus all the others, specially the Mirage III and the F-4E ), and I marvel at the absence of these models in the market, given the fact that the moulds do already exist, the historical signicance is great and the colour schemes are stunning. Mind you, I would also like to have a Syrian or Egyptian Mig-17.

I tend to keep my model collecting separate from my political views, and i would have assumed that most other people did the same. So for example, if I had to buy a P-39 I would buy one in Soviet colours, because I think it is the most representative of its overall combat service in WWII, without this meaning I feel any sympathy of any kind towards Stalinist Russia.

In any case, Berkut 76, I do not think anyone should rush to single out the IDF/AF as the only "taboo" livery. For example, after Century Wings rolling out several 1/72 designs of USN Tomcats ( a bit repetitive ) they are still to produce one in Iranian colours. Will they ever do it ? I doubt it, but I would certainly love to buy one ( to go with the HM Irak AF Mig-21... ). Same absence in the Armour's tomcats but in 1/48 . And yet, the truth remains that individual F-14s of the Iranian Air Force saw more combat than all USN Tomcats put together, they were very succesful, and the desert livery is very nice.

Anyway, Hawkonevodoo, if you get HM to make the Israeli A-4, you will be my hero !

Re: HM, please make this Skyhawk

You're my HERO, FVD!!!

Hard to keep my thoughts PC, but here goes. Mine too, FVD, but not all that strange considering the bias in American media against the Israelis. They ALWAYS wear the black hat; the Palestinians are ALWAYS portrayed as the innocent victim. I'm just waiting for the media to compare the Israeli air force to the Condor Legion bombing of Guernica. As for me, if I like the livery or history I'll buy it.

You obviously haven't seen Hasbro GI Joe 1:6 Israeli recon trooper pulled from the shelf at Toys R US while it's 21st Century Toys Waffen SS brethren were left alone. In terms, one sided demonization of Israel, here in the States, PBS and CNN can give French TV a run for its money. I watch BBC news, and I left scratching my head as to why Israeli politicians constantly complain about BBC coverage, which is more balanced (but still has pro-Palestinian slant most of the time) than the one from the US outlets.

Oh yeah and don't get me started on how I get dirty looks (at best) when I wear my Israeli Soccer Team jersey in public.

Regards,

Sergey

P.S. I'll gladly buy an Iranian F-14 and F-5 if Century Wings / Hobby Master will chose to produce them.

Re: HM, please make this Skyhawk

It would really make my year if you make this A-4N Israeli Skyhawk.

I just saw these and I must say I don't think that is really a Skyhawk flyX. I don't see the characteristic black panel lines which are so distinctive to this type of plane. Look at the HM ones and you'll see this is an imposter.

On a serious note, it's a great choice and me gusta mucho.

Re: HM, please make this Skyhawk

The IAF A4 desert scheme is sweet.... I guess most diecast manufacturers would avoid making such schemes is due to the current situation at Middle East? (to me this is PC crap from a hobbyist point of view) Take for example the missing swazis on all dragon warbirds diecast....

On the other hand, World War II was an event that took place more than 60 yrs ago, and the most of the younger generation is either not aware or choose to ignore its significance? Also, don't forget as the years passed, there are fewer of those who survived WW2 to pass on the memories... Hence it would make more sense for them to make paint schemes of the Axis (german armor and planes especially popular - IMO this is partly due to the outstanding design compared to the allied armor) - just my 2 cents....

Diecast companies would avoid as much consumer backlash as possible - their revenue/reputation would be affected (like what someone mentioned about the GI Joe figure with the IDF uniform earlier?)

Cheers
