Re: A change to Hobby Master 1/72 tanks

What is Easy Model armour like?

They are all plastic but I find them rather nice. Here's the pics of the ones I have:
World War II Tanks - MRC Easy Models Diecast 1/72 Armor - World War 2 Tanks

For me it's a toss up between Admiral and Hobby Master as my favs. Dragon Armors are nice too, but they are becoming nearly all plastic (except for a metal weight) and having less appeal for me.

And with tanks you don"t have to worry about missing swazis!!

I'm not so sure about that. I seem to vaguely recall that the Afrika Korps had that symbol somewhere on their tanks. I could be mistaken. It was definitely on many of the AK's wheeled vehicles.

I do believe you are correct. Kind of something like this.

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.

Another 15 cents and 10 minutes. Though not all vehicles were so marked in the Afrika Korps.

Re: A change to Hobby Master 1/72 tanks

Although I'm probably beating a dead horse here, HM's decision to reduce the amount of metal in their 1/72 scale AFV's is disappointing. I was so impressed with their KV 1E "Crush The Fascist Vipers" that I went ahead and bought the 1/56 Das Reich Kursk Tiger which was also extremely well done. I hope that, in light of this decsion, HM is able to retain the level of detail that I've come to expect in their future releases.

Just my 2 cents...

P.S. For anyone wondering about the DAK Palm Symbol check AFRIKA FILES & scroll down a bit. You'll find an informative little blurb on the variations of this well known insignia.

Hawk - Will HM put "plastic display model" on the box rather than "die-cast display model" to warn us of the lack of metal content? I certainly hope so (If the chassis is the only thing that is metal it shouldn't be considered a die-cast model).

They might, right after all the other companies do it.
