Re: Hobby Master A-10A " PEANUT " 917th TFW HA1303

I've said it before and I'll say it again...give us some planes that are flying today. ANG birds to be precise if I was asked. I gotta say that I love everything about HobbyMaster,..... except some of their choices for paint schemes. The first two were nice but the annoying tail problem puts a small damper on them. The sand vomit, whoops I mean peanut scheme and the next one, the DDay hog, they just aren't for me. The 5th release, the Bentwaters one, I'll get that because it's a regular A-10 in my book. No one time scheme. And I realize that there are people out there just excatly opposite of me, hey, the more crazy and elaborately special the paint scheme the better!! I'm just not that collector.
I'm actually really looking forward to both of Corgi's releases for the grey tones, the Davis-Monthan and Spandalhelm A-10s. Also, I'm anxious to see what ordinance Corgi has and also if they put the door ladder on their models as it's in the pre-production photos. That to me is a really nice touch.

Re: Hobby Master A-10A " PEANUT " 917th TFW HA1303

that's the one for me as well - no tail problems, and not a one-off scheme.

I have to say that I am disappointed with the Peanut A-10 release. I would have bought it if it were a plain grey scheme with the teeth - that would have been awesome IMHO.

Crap, tell me quickly — what’s with this “tail problem”? I’ve got the grey-scheme A-10 on order, but I’ve still got time to cancel. Is this shortcoming serious?

Re: Hobby Master A-10A " PEANUT " 917th TFW HA1303

hey Gort, the horizontal stabs on the first couple of A-10 releases suffered from a droop problem. This pic pinched from Hawkonevoodoo's site illustrates it nicely. It is apparently quite easy to fix - someone posted a solution somewhere on this site.

I prefer not to have to do anything to my models!

Initial versions apparently had 'droopy' tail syndrome (since rectified) - nothing that a little blue pill can't solve ...

Release 1 and 2 have the droop that can be easily fixed with a hair drier. Release 3 and on have been corrected at the factory. There will be more paint schemes coming that I'm sure everyone who wants an A-10 will eventually find to their liking.

Re: Hobby Master A-10A " PEANUT " 917th TFW HA1303

Thanks for the heads-up, guys (and for your suggestion, Starman). Since I don’t open my boxes and display my models, I decided not to hassle with those limpy stabilizers. So I canceled.

No problem, though ... I’ll order one of the corrected versions a month or two from now – maybe the Bentwaters A-10.

That’s one of the things I love about this band of brothers – we’re all out there to help each other!

Hawkonevoodoo,
Hey there.

Any idea if a Maryland Air National Guard scheme might still be in the running?

Anything for a weird life.
