Re: New P-39 Photos on HawkOneVoodoo's website

I already suggested weighting the front but they said they can't. If it had been a 1/48 scale they could have but not in the 1/72 scale.

What are they making the prop, spinner, front gear doors, front gear strut and front wheel out? These parts are usually plastic. If they were metal it would help.

Re: New P-39 Photos on HawkOneVoodoo's website

If anyone has the Squadron P-39 Airacobra In Detail and Scale book - you can see how it should look. You will also see that several panel lines are inconsistent as well - sorry! I wonder what references HM is using for their mold - I hope not the old Airfix/MPC kit! I will try to scan the profiles and plans later for your reference but if someone else can beat me to it - that's fine with me. Even though this model is not perfect - I still want ALL of them. I love this plane and have been waiting a long time for it in diecast!

As far as I know everything including the prop is metal but I will verify that later tonight.

All landing gear struts should be "Bell Green" (not silver) and match interior green of wheel wells and cockpit. The wheel well and cockpit green shown looks a little too bright. It should be less of a chromate green and more of a dark green.

Re: New P-39 Photos on HawkOneVoodoo's website

Okay, the pictures look ...... well...... um interesting. The Russian version is okay I guess, but I'm not even remotely interested in buying it. Sorry, but Russian planes excite me about as much as British planes and George W. speeches do. I like the American bird - inked lines and all. I'm in the minority, but I happen to like the inked lines. What I really don't like is the location of the main gear. Is the IXO version better or are we stuck choosing between two flawed models? Either way this is a major downer as I was so hoping to buy the HM version and now I probably won't get my P-39. Bummer!!!!!

Don't give up on them just yet. I have sent every comment from this and other forums along with my own input and hopefully there will be time to turn this thing around. Stay tuned and I will update everyone as soon as I have anything new.

Re: New P-39 Photos on HawkOneVoodoo's website

I know this is a MH thread, but considering the previous discussion, this is definitely related: Are the MRC P-39's out yet?

You are referring to the US P-39 right?
